Zoloft for Anxiety

A month ago I was in my home and I had an extremely bad panic attack. It bothered me for weeks. At some point I started questioning what was real and what wasn't and the thought of our existence scared me and put me into another attack. I finally went to a psychiatrist and she put me on Zoloft. It's now day 11 and i feel like I'm on a rollercoaster. Im super focused one minute and then anxious and foggy brained the next. Sometimes when I feel too relaxed my mind starts racing again and I panic. It's like my mind doesn't want to be calm. I have reoccurring thoughts about life and how it works and it still freaks me out. My question is, does Zoloft help with reoccurring thoughts and did anyone else feel like their emotions were up and down ALLLL day? I feel like I don't even know myself and one stupid thought makes me panic. I'm really hoping Zoloft will help me feel normal again!

Psychiatrist said it sounds like severe anxiety but I am pretty sure that OCD may be a part of it as well because of the intrusive thoughts. Up until a month ago I was able to manage it on my own but after that bad attack I feel like im all over the place so I am really hoping the Zoloft will help. As for the side effects, the only thing i've really noticed is foggy brain and that my emotions are all over the place but I just don't know if it's because of the medication or if it's because of the anxiety/magical thinking.
