5 years - 2 x 7.5 per night. Very addictive. Can't sleep without them. Awake for 36 hrs because pharmacy wouldn't let me refill early. Unable to nap. An acquaintance who is taking 1  - 7.5 night and sleep eats. I don't know if I do, but have stains on carpet upstairs and I don't eat or drink anything other than water in my bedroom.

I think it has attacked my central nervous system. I have nerve pain coming out of lower spine, down legs and into feet. I managed to go quit for a couple months, had a hard time getting to sleep because of the nerve pain and shakey leg syndrome. I was told it could take from 1 to 10 yrs to go away. I decided to start taking again. I go into panic mode if I've overtaken and I feel like a drug addict. I watched Dr. oz show and that was when I realized the z drugs are dangerous. I've went to emergency numerous time because I thought I was dying and they couldn't find anything wrong. Dr Oz talked about this happening to a lot of people.

If if I could go back, I would not take and recommend no one does. I'm sure my insomnia would have passed eventually.

I also have pain in gut, digestive issues and constipation. I was advised by a Doctor to take a senna stool softener. Now I find out that senna should only be taken for 2 weeks or it messes with your system. I've been taking for a year. Why didn't pharmacist or Doctor advise me of this?

    Hi Laura.  I have

been taking 7.5mg Zopiclone, legally for around twenty odd years now.

I wouldn't say I have any side effects caused by the drug.

i think any side effects, if there are any are probably caused by old age in my case.

all drugs have some side effects, but I don't think Zopiclone are any worse than some others.
