hi i was on zopiclone if i had things going on in my mind such as stress at work it wouldnt knock me out, you need to try and relax before bedtime and write things down or look for another job. im surprised the gp gave u zopiclone its now a controlled drug , im tapering off thats why i asked x

That is great you go to work even if you struggle to go. I am sure you are making a difference - often there is no positive feedback from work but people who do benefit from your input. I just find simple things like winding down from a busy day with a nice healthy meal, doing the dishes, watching a good teli programme, reading or listening to music helps me unwind and destress. Possibly ringing a friend and sticking to a routine after going for a walk I also find works - but not always I get stressed when tired too and sometimes have to ring a phone counselling line for support. They are there to listen and I am sure they would also emphasise the great work you are doing if you chose to talk about it. I am not sure if any of this will work for you - it is just what I find works for me that may work for others. Take care - there is hope.

Hey no worries I know how stressful work can be and how in any work environment employees can be a fantastic job and get no positive feedback. I have found the same thing myself. You could always write down all the good things you do for people in a journal so you always remember the things you do that are good and can read it when it is hard to get going. It puts a smile on my face to get up in the morning when I think about the difference I will be making (which takes myself a lot of convincing when tired after work or in the morning) at work and then I get up. I can totally relate to not sleeping until 1am on zopiclone that is the usual time I go to sleep on it too and no wonder I mostly do not get up in the morning until 11am or later. I have just had to do work in the afternoon now. Is that something you could do just get shifts in the afternoon? I really do not blame you at all not wanting to get up or anyone on zopiclone as it is such a strong drug. Don't worry about it though - maybe have an energy drink once you have got up or something with caffeine in it would give you a boost. Berrocca B tablets that desolve in water and are fizzy and really tasty and nice may be a good option for you too. Not sure if any of this will work for you - it works for me but I would rather be getting up in the mornings if it weren't for the zopiclone. I will reduce it slowly at the right time. All the best and keep posting. Take care and remember the fantastic difference you are making at work!

zopiclone is a strange medication. I am working hard to reduce mine and will see my doctor about an alternative. I have found that adding two isobruprofen seems to help calm everything down for some reason and am eventually getting to sleep. Only the two at bedtime of course. I don't thing there will ever be the right sleeping pill because really no one should need them but we are not in a dizzy floating world and we have stress issues beyond comfort so yes we do need them
