    Hi-

Dawn- this is all great information. I am a health professional who does use zopiclone to sleep. I take "half" of the 7.5mg pill 3-5 times per wweek and the goal is not to need them. However, the 2 sides to this are: sleep deprivation is not healthy and can inpat your life. So, if you need a sleep med, be aware of the dependancy of zoplicone as it is addictive, and the side effects. If it does help you sleep (it works great for me, I get a good 7 hours sleep with no aftermath) then use it wisely with the help of a doc or health professional. I have seen people take this med day and night for relief purpose, so its addictive, but it does help some people for short term insomnia. On the other, there are some great additional ways to help you sleep that may be a good alternative. Sleep therapy, meditation and one I use ....passion flower. Its all about what works for you and knowing the info. Good luck!!

Hi dawn, I have been taking zopiclone for weeks now but have found I only need a half tablet, if i take the whole pill I get the discusting taste, but half works just as well, I have the best sleeps ever now, I have heard some scary stuff aabout it tho.....

All I can say Nancy is that you should take notice of the scary stuff

because no doubt like thousands of people like myself regret the day

they took their prescribed sleeping aid.

I can only suggest that you do some more research as no doubt you will become tolerant to them in time to come.

Then you will need more and more.

I bid you goodnight from a former sleeping aid user .

      Hi tootsie58

I have read the info on these and am only on them temporarily. I also am not taking them every night either.

      Thanks

Dawn looking back I wish that I had never taken one pill of mine.

Mine was a benzo sleeping aid.

But Zopiclone and all Z drugs are just as bad as benzos.

i can only say it again. Be careful with what you take.

The longer you take it, the less you will sleep, until eventually you'll be wanting two of them.

I got very badly addicted to them. It didn't take long, either.

Zopiclone is highly addictive and ought to be withdrawn. It acts quickly and is out of your body quickly, too. The manufacturers claimed it was non-addictive but this is nonsense.

Oh, you'll sleep well for a while - but the receptors in your brain which help you sleep will become tolerant to one tablet, and you'll need more.

Best advice is to take them only for ten days. Or ask your doctor for a different sleeping pill. Doctors have this false belief that zopiclone is less addictive than other sleeping medication. This is absolutely not true.

Don't fall over with shock, but I got up to taking 28 tablets a night before I sought help with this addiction

Doctors are almost always wrong about sleeping pills, Dawn. That's why so many of them won't prescribe them. They are the snesible ones, believe me. Go and ask your pharmacist about sleeping pill addiction. You'll be horrified.

I have only taken a max of 3 and 1 a night when i first got them, not taking them every night either.

I found Kalms more soothing for sleep.

Actually, best advice is not to take them, or any sleeping pill, ever. I was wrong in that last post. They're all highly addictive.
