Zopiclone not working help!

Posted , 2 users are following.

****Hi everyone

For over 2 weeks my sleep has been awful. I'm getting about 2-4 broken hours between 6am and 10am. I had one day where I stayed asleep through the day as I was a zombie. Gp prescribed a weeks course of zopiclone 7. 5. Took one 3 nights ago, within an hour I was asleep and had 10 hours! Last night it didn't work for 7 hours then I got 5 hours sleep. Tonight it's been 4 hours so far and although I'm exhausted my eyes hurt etc I cannot sleep. If I get up I'm v unbalanced but not drowsy.

Anyone else experienced this?

I should also add that I am currently going through a withdrawal process from venlafaxine. But I am introducing vortioxetine which is meant to help sleep! Also I'm trying all the things I can think of to help myself.

I know that zopiclone or any other drugs are not the answer to this problem except for occasional use. You are focusing too much on how long you are sleeping and trying to force a solution. From what you say you are getting easily enough sleep to keep going. The best thing to do is accept that, whatever happens, lack of sleep won't seriously harm you ( I had a very extended period where I didn't thing I was getting any sleep at all). By focusing your attention on the problem, you are adding to the anxiety that is causing the problem in the first place. I know from experience that when you find a way of accepting the situation for better or worse and stop being afraid of it, (ie don't give a damn whether you sleep or not) it will gradually, over a period of time, resolve. Lack of sleep makes you tired for sure but worry about it makes you feel a lot worse.
