My insomnia started 3 months ago after a couple of sleepless nights which suddenly turned into massive sleep anxiety. I took 7.5 mg Zop for 7 nights then half a dose now down to a quarter of a dose every night. I'm getting there still get sleep anxiety but keeping busy. I've also started Melatonin it's early days. I do have broken sleep but managing about 5 hrs every night. I have also never increased my Zop dose if I have a bad night. It's tough but I'm determined to get off it

Hi well done! You have done very well .

I just read that Zop should only be prescribed for 1 or 2 nights!!

It took me ages to read all the side effects and contraindications so that to me speaks volumes in itself!

I think you are doing all the right things and wish you well. Keep strong.

sorry dhmc . I posted the wrong reply to the wrong poster!!!!

I think you can still withdraw but under medical guidance. I read that withdrawal signs and symptoms will occur. I have never taken this drug but have taken prescribed .

codeine and went thru withdrawal ct. The wd was terrible but worthwhile. I was only on a small dose as well

Hi no they put me on 7.5 for a week as if hardly slept for 3 weeks. I then gradually reduced myself. No withdrawal symptoms really apart from waves of anxiety which I was getting anyway as I'm also withdrawing from Amitryptillin having been on it 15 yrs due to serious health issues. The Doctors vary with how long they will prescribe Zop for. My own Doc said it was more important to get my sleep. I agree
