ZOPLICONE - 10 YR USER - QUIT COLD TURKEY - MY STORY!

Hello all. I just found this site yesterday and have braved a storm to come and use a computer to share my story. I will cut to the chase. Point form facts.
- started taking them in 2003. 7.5 tablet. Working midnights.
- began to notice they made me high, like I was drunk several minutes after taking them.
- my tolerance grew. From 7.5 tablet to 2 x 7.5 after a few years
- I began taking more as soon as I moved out on my own in 2008. I began waking up feeling sick in the morning, like I was hungover. I felt stoned everyday, they call it de-realization (related to anxiety) I got very anxious. They also increased my appetite.
- The last 2 years I was popping 3 to 4 a night. I was getting them from a few doctors at once, abusing them, looking forward to the high.
- I had a major breakdown 03/07/2013. It had all caught up to me. I packed my clothes in my trunk and went to the hospital where I wasa in the psych ward for 4 days.
*** POST ZOPLICONE DAYS ***
- after a few days I suffered 'electrical jolts' in my brain. (withdrawl effect.)
- I have been off zoplicone for over 5 months and placed on a low dose of mirtazipine.
- it has been rough. I deal with extreme anxiety, bouts of depression, a few panic attacks and de-realization (like feeling stoned, detached from reality)
SUMMARY
- Things happen for a reason and this site has helped me understand I am not alone. It can be done. You have to take it one day at a time. I am seeing a counsellor for CBT. I had no detox centre, no withdrawl centre, I suffered in a basement apartment. I actually do sleep and have learned to take care of my body. Remember.....GOD DOESN'T GIVE US ANY MORE THAN WE CAN'T HANDLE
