Can screening programmes for abdominal aortic aneurysm safely be made more efficient by targeting them at people at the highest risk of disease?
Currently, the NHS offers abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) scans to all 65-year-old men. This computer-based study looks at health records to see if scans could instead be offered only to men at higher risk. The goal is to make screening more efficient while still finding life-threatening swellings early.
