Doctors are testing whether analysing stool (poo) samples can track eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE) in children and young people. EoE causes inflammation in the food pipe, usually monitored using camera tests under general anaesthetic. This study checks if measuring gases released by stool could offer a simpler, kinder way to monitor the illness.
