- recruitingPhase I
A trial testing the safety and effectiveness of treating patients with kidney cancer that has spread to other parts of the body with a tumour freezing treatment (called cryoablation) and immunotherapy
This study looks at combining a freezing treatment for cancer with immunotherapy for advanced kidney cancer. We want to see if freezing tumours first can make the body's own immune system better at fighting the cancer alongside standard medications. It's a first step to find more effective treatments.
United Kingdom - recruitingPhase III
Randomised study platform to optimize treatment in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma
This study looks at different drug combinations for advanced kidney cancer to find the best treatment. It compares immune-boosting drugs with or without targeted therapies, aiming to improve survival and stop the cancer from growing.
United Kingdom · England · Austria - ongoing, recruitingTherapeutic confirmatory (Phase III)
A Phase III Randomized, Open-label Study to Evaluate Efficacy and Safety of Pembrolizumab (MK-3475) in Combination with Axitinib versus Sunitinib Monotherapy as a First-line Treatment for Locally Advanced or Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma (mRCC) (KEYNOTE-426)
This study looks at new treatments for advanced kidney cancer. It compares a combination of two drugs, pembrolizumab and axitinib, with a standard drug, sunitinib, to see which works better and is safer for people newly diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer.

Study of Cabozantinib as Monotherapy or in Combination With Nivolumab in Patients With Advanced or Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma Under Real-life Clinical Setting in 1st Line Treatment.
This study looks at how a treatment called cabozantinib, used alone or with another drug called nivolumab, works for people in the UK with advanced kidney cancer. Researchers want to see how patients use these drugs in normal clinic visits and understand any side effects.

SBRT With Combination Ipilimumab/Nivolumab for Metastatic Kidney Cancer
This study looks at combining a specific type of radiation, SBRT, with two immunotherapy drugs, ipilimumab and nivolumab, for advanced kidney cancer. It compares giving SBRT with these drugs versus giving the drugs alone, for patients who can't have surgery.
Australia · Canada - recruitingPHASE2
A Phase II Study Assessing Stereotactic Radiotherapy in Therapeutic Strategy of Oligoprogressive Renal Cell Carcinoma Metastases
This study looks at a special type of radiotherapy called stereotactic radiotherapy for kidney cancer that has spread. It aims to see if treating just the growing parts of the cancer can help people stay on their current medicine longer and live better.
France - active not recruitingPHASE3
Nivolumab in Treating Patients With Localized Kidney Cancer Undergoing Nephrectomy
This study looks at a new drug, nivolumab, for kidney cancer that hasn't spread. It compares surgery alone to surgery plus nivolumab to see if the drug can stop the cancer from coming back. It's a phase 3 trial, meaning it's in its later stages of testing.
