Overview
There are many conditions that affect the vagina (the internal muscular canal) and the vulva (the external part of the female genitalia) such as thrush and vulvitis.
Vaginal thrush
Vaginal thrush, also known as a vaginal yeast infection or candidiasis, is a common fungal infection caused by an overgrowth of Candida - a type of yeast that normally lives in small amounts in the vagina.
Bartholin's cyst
A Bartholin's cyst is a fluid-filled cyst that forms on one of the Bartholin's glands, which are small glands located just inside the opening of the vagina.

Vulvitis
Vulvitis is inflammation of the vulva, which is the external part of the female genitalia. It is not a disease itself but a symptom or reaction caused by irritation, infection, or an allergic response.
Vulvar itch
Vulvar itch refers to itching of the vulva. It is a common symptom of many vulvar problems.
