???? Infection

Had physio today, a good massage of both legs but concerned as areas around my scars are feeling hot and looked flushed.   GP appointment booked to get it checked.

Told physio I felt like I have gone backwards, and she said I am still in the early stages of healing and each time a muscle kicks in then it will cause discomfort.   My thighs were like solid bricks this morning so she gave them a good massage but it was painful..

Back on that rollercoaster.... 1 forward 1 backward move.  but actual hips are pain free it the area surrounding them that is the problem.

THank you Ian... nice to know it could be normal... have been worried.. putting icepack on each scar at night to cool them down...

My problem is physio have not dealt with a bi-lateral replacement before, so I am being used as a training session also.

Elaine I am having same issue. Today the therapist massaged me and man was it painful!! 😖😖. I left there feeling worse than when I got there!! Iced and took 1/2 a tramadol. And still having that awful lump when I sit!! 😫 When will that go away!!! Yesterday was ok but like you said 1 forward 1 back. 😞

Linda feels like I am growing another bottom... lol   spent most of the evening with ice on my lumps but as soon as I got into bed the heat and pain came back.... I have to take tramedol to get to sleep each night.

Have Drs on Thursday so hopefully they will give me something or it will be a journey to see the Consultant.  3 hrs on the trains!!!! that is if Southern Rail are not striking.

You know Elaine I just don't understand that lump feeling tho!! Because there is no lump there! The dr has felt back there, the therapist, even me and there is no lump to say that's what I'm feeling!!! so what the heck is going on back there!!! It's sore that's for sure. And by the second incision where he had to pull up on that butt muscle it burns. Uughhh!! One day we will feel better!! 🤗 LD

I will keep you up to date.... I have GP appt for Thursday... but will see they have not been to good since the op... as I went out of area....

I can always email my surgeon but he has just returned from paternity leave so do not want to bother him as he will be busy.   Daughter can talk to him easily..   which is alot friendlier for him.

hi elaine,  oh yeah, those deep tissue massages are painful ... I am having those for the last 4 weeks - apparently my muscles are so tight taht connective tissue needs to be broken down as well as accumulated scar tissue ... leaves me feeling bruised - I take paracetamol /tylenol ... keep doing your exercises though ...  I don't like Icepacks so when it is really bad, I put heat on it .... tender loving care is still in order, darling big warm hugrenee

Thank you Renee.... I have been told to stop the heat patches and Ibufon gel... I need to get some Tiger Balm and rub that in and then sit with frozen peas in the evening on my scars.

?Have woken up this morning with some lovely bruises on my legs from the massage...

?TLC being given but I get so frustrated... am trying to book some physio in the local swimming pool but she has a full list as that would be lovely.   Going to try the old game of "Do you remember" we played Netball together for years!!!

Only my opinion but I think tiger balm is very overrated. You might do better with a warming emu oil massage oil. Emu oil penetrates through skin better than anything else and carries to the muscles better. Google for a warming emu oil - it's widely available. Obviously, with both, be very sure all the scar is healed, or you  will regret using either!
