[LONG PLEASE READ] HOW I’M HEALING MY ANAL FISSURE FOR A WEEK

Hello everyone,

I WANT TO ADVISE THAT I AM NOT [A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL I’M JUST SHARING THIS BECAUSE BASED ON EXPERIENCE I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING AND THIS WAS THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED AND I JUST WANT TO HELP ANYONE THAT IS GOING THROUGH THIS PAIN]

Here’s how I’ve started to heal my Anal Fissure and I want to help anyone that is going through the same thing because it’s one of the worse things anyone can ever go through physically and emotionally. It all started when I used the restroom after a night of drinking eating the wrong choice of food. I was straining so hard and since I have an internal hemorrhoid I thought the pain I was experiencing was that. When I would push the hemorrhoid back in normally when that happens I never had an issue I usually just push it back in and I forget it’s even there but this time I felt a pain that was different it felt sharp and it stung really bad. I didn’t think much of it but as the days went by the pain kept getting worse to the point where I would use the restroom it felt like shattered glass and the pain was becoming unbearable, I was in so much pain I would feel like passing out at times and I would cry. Even after a few hours the pain would linger. I then started seeing blood which terrified me and urged me to go to the doctors. Doctors then confirmed that I also had an anal fissure.  At this point I’ve had this fissure for about a month now and I was still eating the same thing and the doctors had prescribed me nitroglycerin along with licodaine ointment and the only thing that seemed to ease the pain was nitroglycerin but it didn’t help much as far as healing the wound. The doctor also had advised me to just focus on treating my constipation and to make sure to add fiber to my diet. I was still eating the same thing and added more fiber. That still didn’t do much and at this point I started to feel helpless and fell into depression because I felt as though no one understood... even though it’s a small tear most people didn’t really understand the pain it brings physically and mentally. There were days I was taking off work because I just couldn’t move. So then I started doing research online on my own... and I stumbled upon another post in which is a life saver, after trying everything I could to heal my fissure following everything I seen on that post I’m finally starting to see progress. Here’s what I did, please do this is you are suffering from a fissure that’s taking a while to heal....

First thing I did was empty my bowel by taking a laxative, the one I took was Dulcolax it says to take 2 tabs but I only took 1 since I didn’t want to irritate my stomach. I took one tab at night and the next morning I had flushed everything at that point you might still be in pain since the fissure is still an open wound but it’s okay this is just the first step. After you empty your bowel then we start the healing process...

What I did was FAST for the first two days just drinking nothing but water. I know this might sound scary and you might feel hungry (you won’t die) this is just so that you can give you fissure the opportunity to heal and yes it goes against everything the doctor tells you because they advise you to take fiber and such but your fissure is not going to start healing if you keep having bowel movements, it’ll continue to reopen the wound. The following days all I would have is liquid (water, juice, soup broth) I did this for a week. I also purchased this stool it’s called Squatty Potty which helps you not strain when using the restroom. Now let’s move on to the creams and supplements I took...

As for the creams I read somewhere that zinc is good for healing wounds and it’s also a skin barrier. So what I did was I mix zinc along with triple antibiotic cream, then after I apply that I also apply the nitroglycerin cream which helps relax your muscles down there. I did this everyday/twice a day after washing myself, make sure to keep the area clean. Once in the morning and once at night.

As for the supplements I take Vitamin C and Vitamin A. After taking those supplements I follow it with a tablespoon of coconut oil. I also take magnesium citrate at night which is a natural stool softer and works as a natural muscle relaxer.

It’s been a week now, and today when I had to use the restroom there was no pain. Yes I still know the fissure is there and it might not be fully healed yet but for the first time I’m so happy I’m pain free and I’m not afraid to use the restroom anymore. I’m going to continue doing this in slowly but surely reintroduce my body to solid food and slowing introduce fiber into my diet. I’m also staying away from red meat and dairy for now.

So that is how I’m healing my fissure, if you’re going through this I’m so so sorry... I feel your pain, if you’re like me and would like to try the natural way of healing it first before surgery then try this. I understand what it’s like and how terrifying it is but just know you’re not alone. This will pass and I hope you heal as well. If you have any questions I’m more than happy to help to the best of my knowledge and let you know the steps and experiences I’ve gone through with this.

OMG... thanks so much for your post. I have been suffering with an anal fissure for the past 2 months. postpartum constipation was the caused. im currently breatfeeding so i'll do my research about fasting and still producing breastmilk. Fasting to not pass stools is just brilliant! im familiar with fasting because of church, so i know it's safe, just as long as we drink water during the fast. thank you, thank you.

Hi thank you so much for this post. I've had some gut problems, inflammation, mucus and bleeding for a few weeks now. Have a colonoscopy next Wed.

Three days ago i had a surgical procedure as i had a miscarriage but was still carrying the baby. The general anaesthetic made me severely constipated and after 3 hours on the toilet i think i may have caused some anal tears, fossures or hemorrhoids.

It's now excruciatingly painful to pass a stool. I've never felt pain like it and have been in tears. I read that i should eat more fibre which is what i did yesterday and today its even more painful to go than it was yesterday. Ive purchased Germoloids cream which is so painful to insert but does provide some pain relief once I've got the cream in. I've also started on stool softeners and got some aloe vera juice which i read was good for gut inflammation. I have no idea if what I have is a fissure but it sounds similar to some of these posts. When I'm passing a stool it honestly feels like I'm passing a cactus.

I agree that more fibre seemed to cause more pain than do good so i was thinking about fasting entirely and googled it and found this thread. So thank you! I'm definitely going to try this now

Hello, I know I'm late to the party but thanks a lot for sharing! I had a surgery done about 3 months ago to get rid of hemorrhoids, and thankfully it worked. But during the third week of recovery, I was having difficulty going the bathroom and developed a fissure. It's honestly been way worse than the hemorrhoids ever were! Got nifedipine prescribed by my surgeon almost 1 week ago but still not noticing much improvement, kind of like you weren't. I'm relieved that your method helped you and I'm going to try to do it myself. I also wanted to know, after you finished your initial 7 day water/liquid diet fast, did you do more of them in the future until your fissure was completely healed? I just wouldn't want to ruin any progress down the line if the initial 7 day water/liquid diet fast worked! I'm a 22 year old who's been battling medical issues in that area for 9 months now and although physically it is extremely discomforting, I'm mentally struggling as well, especially because I've always loved exercising and being active. Anyway, a response would be awesome, thanks again for sharing!

Sorry for the late response. Hope you are healed completely and I'm so happy to hear that this worked for you! Yes after seeing progress I definitely took things slowly watched what I ate for a couple months. I ate red meat in moderation and completely stopped eating dairy, cheese, and bread. This was hard as I loved all those food BUT.. Red Meat, Cheese, and Bread are known to stop you up and cause constipation. Drank lots of water or liquid. I read somewhere that it can take up to a complete year for a cut in your anal to completely heal. So during that first year I was careful. Im happy to report that it's been 3 years since I posted it and not one fissure in sight. I completely healed that cut! But even then, during the first year of being healed, if I even feel a pinch or suspect anything I'd just apply zinc oxide the one I use is Desitin Maximum Strength for preventative measures and it works like a charm each time. I believe that your body is capable of healing itself you just gotta provide the tools. I try to avoid surgery as much as possible and this actually helped me avoid that 😃

    hey

interesting to read this thanks for sharing

my short version story was after participating in a cycle fitness experiment where i was required to enter a temperature probe into my butt, the tester insisted putting loads of medical tape around the sensor to keep it in the butt as other subjects had experienced the sensor popping out during the 30km time trial. i did it grudingly. on finishing time trial the tape damaged the inside of my rectum that over time developed into a very minor but very painful anal fistula. have gone to see a specialist who suggested the tape may have perforated the inside lining and then didnt heal properly telling me that it should be a very easy fix with surgery so long as the fistula is simple and does not lead higher up.

so then i stumbled on this and now im 40 hours in. i have had one glass black coffee. 2 glasses of soup broth just liquid. no solids. i didnt have a laxative and just did my final poo 36 hours after eating a nice pork dinner.

my fistula is a little sore from the poo. i had the laxative ready but felt a movement so decided not to use it. very hungry first 12-18 hours. second day not too bad.

i read an iranian peer reviewed paper on 128 subjects that got better results injecting egg yolk up their butt to help heal. using zinc cream on outside of anal fistula(sudocream)

so ive now got nothing in my intestinal track. thinking about a self enema but havent done that yet as i want to ensure my insides are clean to heal

    see how it goes

    Hi there,

I wanted to check if you had any side effects from the Nitroglycerin? I've been prescribed some from my GP but have been worried about taking it.

    Thanks for your time 😃

Hello 😃 Sorry for the late response. I don't log into this very often just from time to time. I never had any side effects from it. The one that was prescribed to me looked like an ointment that was supposed to be applied topically. Also, just to update you.. I'm glad to report that it has been 3 years since I posted this and I have not had any fissure, thank goodness! If I do feel one coming on and get a bit paranoid, I just apply Desitin extra strength aka Zinc Oxide cream like the ones babies use and I'm as good as new. I hope this was able to help you. Happy to answer any other questions you have! Take care!

    Hi All,

Just wanted to update everyone. Disclaimer I'm not a medical professional. I'm just a firm believer that you can heal your body, the human body can do incredible things. I'm not saying this over rules any medical intervention or doctors advise. I am completely healed. Read below👇🏼

TO CLARIFY ABOUT WHICH SUPPLEMENTS AND OINTMENTS WERE USED:

What I actually did was a 2 day water fast, then a period of 3 days of taking a 500mg vitamin C tablet, a 10,000 IU vitamin A tablet, in a tablespoon of coconut oil (you need fatty acids to absorb vitamin A). Ointments used were nitroglycerin which was prescribed by doctor, triple antibiotic, and zinc oxide which you can find anywhere like cvs, walgreens, Walmart etc.. Zinc oxide cream is actually made a huge impact in healing my fissure it is a skin barrier and helps heal wounds. A great example is Desitin Maximum Strength which is the one I personally use. It is known for babies they are to heal diaper rash. I watched a video about this mom that used it for her babies fissure as well. Babies tend to get fissues too when they have constipation. So I would say it is fairly safe to use. REMEMBER FIRST TWO DAYS NO FOOD. On day 3 start the supplements. The following days all I would have is liquid (water, juice, soup broth) I did this for a week. STAY AWAY FROM RED MEAT, CHEESE, AND BREAD as much as possible as this is known to stop you up and cause constipation.

It's been 3 years since I initially posted this and I'm happy to report that I have been healed completely from my anal fissure. This goes to show you that it is possible. You are not defeated by this and you CAN cure yourself. I remember seeking help from medical professionals when I had this and all the advise I was the complete opposite such as "eat more fiber". For one this does not help when you have an anal fissure. Last thing you need is to keep defecating. You want to heal your cut/fissure and you cant do that when you keep passing stool, it will prevent it from healing or keep reopening then you're back to square one. Any cuts in your anus takes longer to heal opposed to other cuts in your body because your anus is moist making it harder for any wounds to heal in there. Fasting is not a bad thing, there have been many studies showing it can actually be beneficial and reset your body. If you are suffering from an anal fissure and have not found any solution... please try this and others know if it has worked for you as well. I hope anyone that reads this will be healed completely just like me.
