VINEGAR, VINEGAR AND MORE VINEGAR!!! You don't need to pay money to get rid of these things!! Listen up people, if you want to see quicker results just use vinegar to get rid of your awful warts or veruca/s!! Get either white wine vinear or apple cider vinegar, cotton wool balls and some duck tape. Break the cotton wool into smaller pieces (slightly larger than the veruca or wart itself) Soak these cotton wool pieces in vinegar and place directly over the veruca/s. Secure in place over night with plenty of duck tape. Do this every night. In the morning, remove the tape and shower as usual. Let the area dry up during the day and leave alone. After only a few days you will feel slight tenderness in the veruca area and you will notice that it changes colour, becoming darker. I think that this is because the veruca has absorbed the vinegar and the flesh is decaying and drying up. This is the only thing that has helped me with mine. Don't waste money on over the counter products-its a waste!! Don't have them cut out or frozen or lazered-off until youhave tried this for at least 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure this will be the most effective thing you've tried! And easy and natural and cheap. Try it!! Good luck!!! xoxox :ok:

Hi, I've had a verruca for approx 5yrs tried all the off the shelf stuff and it keeps coming back, so I've used the apple vinegar treatment now on/off for 2 weeks. Now got a black dot approx 2mm square with a white outer ring and very sore to walk on, how long should I carry on using the vinegar? Any advice welcome.

I despaired of getting rid of two really deep and painful verrucas, one on the bottom of each foot.

I tried ACV and put up with the ridiculous agony but they still didn't go after weeks of applying ACV.

Then I had a break and left them and then tried Verrugon which is a 50% salicylic acid topical cream. This did reduce them quite a lot.

I then read about Bragg's ACV and the 'mother enzyme' it contains. It's about £15 a bottle so not cheap but it was so worth it.

I applied it to both verrucas by soaking cotton wool with it and sticking this on with gorilla duct tape (another great product as it's so sticky). I did this overnight for a few weeks. I took it off during the day and stuck plasters over the verrucas.

I didn't file it or pick it and let a brownish scan form (as advised by a previous person on here). I had previously picked/filed/cut them and I think this was my biggest mistake.

At the same time I also drank 2 tablespoons of ACV diluted in water each day. Bragg's is unfiltered, unpasteurised, etc and seemed to nowhere near as harsh as previous bog-standard ACV.

I experienced a moderate but manageable level of pain. Nowhere near as bad as the previous ACV.

After a few weeks one of the scabs came off and I thought it was gone but there were still black dots in it and actually it was still there. The other one had reduced but was still there. I thought this second round of ACV treatment had failed.

But I persevered and resisted picking at it. I carried on with the treatment for a couple more weeks and I am pleased to say these foul horrible things have finally gone after nearly two years.

Over the two years I tried freezing them, salicylic acid, duct tape and over the counter remedies. None of them worked. The supermarket ACV caused a horrible amount of pain but didn't get rid of them

So I would recommend trying Verrugon and then ACV overnight but use the really good quality ones like braggs. I don't work for them I promise. I am just so so happy they have gone that I wanted to write it here as this forum was such a great help and encouragement to me. Especially the person who said do not pick it and let a scab form and leave it to dry during the day. This is great advice.

So it probably took a couple of months for the Bragg's ACV to work and I don't know if drinking helped or not (Check all side effects of drinking ACV before you drink it though). All I know is by doing the above I got rid of these foul things after believing I'd be stuck with them for life.

Hope this helps people who are in despair over these horrible things

    Apple Cider Vinegar WORKS!

I registered on the site just so I could tell my story. I had a verucca/plantar wart for about 3 months and had no idea what it was until I got diagnosed by a podiatrist. During the consultation he froze the wart with nitrogen and sent me home limping. During the next week or so my foot was trying to recover from all the blistering due to the the freezing. As my own tissue healed so did the plantar wart.

Desperate from the pain I decided to try ACV after reading this discussion. Within the first 2 days the wart had significantly darkened and I started to pick at the dead skin with tweezers/blade. By the third day the bump of a wart had turned into a crater with warty tissue in the middle and the ridges of the crater hurting like crazy. Despite the pain I would manually dessimate the wart by picking and pulling at the wart tissue with needle nose tweezers before reapplying the ACV. It remained like that for next 5 days. The pain escalated significantly with every passing day. Each day I thought to myself that this is the 'agony' stage that I had read about, and the next day I was always proven wrong by the increasing pain. I was limping everywhere and constantly fantasized about walking normally or baring my foot in yoga class without a giant band aid.

On the 9th day the pain was so unbearable, the best way that I can describe it is lightning bolts of pain shooting through my foot on the slightest pressure. I was now convinced I was at the agony stage. The next day (today) when I woke up the pain was slightly different than usual, it was less intense and did not sting as much. Throughout the day the pain gradually lessened. The wart is now small and black and the ridges of the crater have depressed and is not angry looking at all. I am absolutely amazed at the drastic difference!

Throughout this process I have gone to bed everynight with ACV, cotton pads and duct tape. Most of the days I would continue treatment throughout the day, I think I may have missed 3 days in total due to morning rush circumstances.

Please give ACV a try, I am so glad I did.

Hi there, READ! White Wine Vinegar treatment for verruca! Our 6 year old daughter had one on her ball of her foot. We used small cotton wool ball soaked in white wine vinegar, then duck tape it to keep it on. Every night put it on, take off in the morning and wash gently. After 1 week started to get little black spots, it was also getting tender and the skin around the verrucca started wrinkling. Another week done the line, the skin around it was peeling, we sanded it every day, very gently, bit painful, but a lolly helps! Had to then give her 4 days rest, then started again, 2 weeks later, it shrunk, I kept peeling the skin off gently lightly sanding and it did disappear. Yes, it's a bit uncomfortable, yes it is a tad sore when you peel the skin off and sand the verruca, but it works, spot on! They was 2 years ago, never came back! 100% worked.

I had one verucca for 2 years, without pain and tried chemist options that didn't work. The Doctor told me to agitate it with an emery board and this has caused it to spread to 4 verrucas.

I've been using white vinegar and duck tape for 10 nights now. They have all gone very white and the original one is now more prominent and painful. Shouldn't they be going black? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

How did it go? After a bit of the centre turned brown and fallen off, mine then formed a large white ring around the small crate with very thick skin, stayed like that for 2 weeks using ACV every night. I had to manually scrape off the top layer then yesterday it was very painful and started to yellow (with an additional step of checking if any oxygen can seep in through the sides of duct tape). I cut off most of the yellow and now today some of the thick skin has gone black. I cut of the top yellow/white layer and revealed this painful soft spongey black tissue. I'm guessing the big ring with thick skin is the remaining of the wart and takes a looong time to remove as the surrounding healthy skin is trying to heal over it, hence the white layer.

It does turn black, the area does get sore, the skin around it does peel, I had to every day sand it and every use a tiny blade to pick the loose bits off. She didn't like it much, but I guarentee it worked for my daughter. My sons got one now, I have stated yesterday with the same treatment, his is more advanced, little black spots already there and raised quite high, he's very sensitive do I am going to try 5 days every night with duck tape the edges, white wine vinegar soaked cotton wool and cover with duck tape and a sock. I will keep you updated if you would like. My daughters never came back and foes work. X

After 5 days, leave it for a day or do to dry out, then start again, it may take a while, a few weeks even but it's the chemicals in the vinegar that neutralises the virus and kills it, so I have been told. It really works. But very good luck. We tried freezing first but it ended up damaging thenerves in my daughters feet, not good! X

The secret with the cider vinegar, is patience and pain!!  It will hurt like hell, and, even to the extent that my daughter had to take brufen as the pain was so bad!!

She used to leave the dressing off every three days or so, thus giving it a bit of time to grow and come to the surface.  The vinegar works alot quicker than you think!!  But she had verrucas UNDENEATH her nail, and had tried every product on the market, but to no avail.

As I said, it is painful.  You wonder why you put yourself through such agony.  You will want to give up!!!  But please, please, DONT!!!  You will be so happy when they have gone.  As they will if you persevere.  She didnt bother with the filing down as the vinegar made the root come to the surface and then she just literally picked it out.

Good luck.  Keep with it.  You will be so glad you did.

hi so i'm doing the apple cider vinegar on my wart that is on my finger, and its been 7 days and still no result. i'm reading everyones's feedback about how its supposed to turn black and peel off that hasn't happened. my skin on the opposite side of my finger has started to irritate and the wart and the skin around it has turned crinkly white and is peeling off but the wart is more swollen and very very white and doesn't seem to budge. what should i do ???

      I suggest - keep going.

My verucca went very white (as you are describing) and it wasn't until after nearly 2 weeks that it went black. It also went through a painful stage (I think that shows the vinegar is working). I think it is bringing the wart to the surface - hence the pain. I think my veruccas are nearly gone now _ I have been ignoring the pain and filing them down every other day. The pain has now gone.

Sounds like the layer of skin on top of the wart is protecting it from the vinegar. My suggestion would be to get a blade or a scalpel and glide it gently along the raised part, slowly removing or thinning the layer of skin. Try not to hit the wart or the brown dots as it will start bleeding. Continue with the acv treatment

Additional tip to the above scraping off top layer and that it takes over 2 weeks consistent AVC use, I used fabric strapping over the duct tape, especially the sides to ensure no air could get in over the night/24hr soak. I cut slits in the gorilla tape to ensure a snug fit on my thumb and that's when it started to finally yellow then brown.
