10 years post tkr op. Anyone else that far?

Just fell and bent knee way beyond its maximum. Heard a cracking/crunching sound and I am in excruciating pain. Should I go to a&e?

Also, if anyone needs any questions answered I've had both knees done. Something of an expert now! First one was 10 years ago (@35 years of age) and other knee done 4 years ago.

Yes I think so Brenda - you would if you HADN'T had a TKR. You may have damaged tendons/ligaments and they need attending to.

Have you got transport? Dont use it more than you must for the moment - and a 999 call may be in order, they'll advise you.

Thanks for replying. I know I need to go i just don't want to!😣. It's been an hour and a half now and it's still really sore.

Ok I am going to be a grown up about this and ring my mummy to take me!

      I'll update you.

      Thank you for the push!

Oh Brenda, you are no doubt sitting in a&e now (at least I hope you are or have been).

I hope it all turns out right for you.

You being a TKR survivor, we could do with your input.

Let us know how you get on.

    Hugs

So nice to get such a lot of support! So I rested it for a bit and while I was lying down it felt ok but i couldn't lift it up and when I try to bend it the pain is shocking and feels like there is something inside! So I am in a&e now (it's busy too!) But sitting on this chair is the wrong angle for the knee and is not helping!

Hope all goes well and there is no bad damage done.  strangely enough, I fell on my knee this week too . .well, on both knees.  Hurts,  but nowhere near as bad as yours!  I've heard that these knee replacements are actually as strong as the original knee, so hopefully all you have damaged is the surrounding flesh, tendons etc. . Stil, no fun at all!!!
