100% WORKING TREATMENT for my IBS!
Hi, I am writing this to try to help everybody that I can because I have been on the same boat as you guys and gone through this living hell for 3 years!!! Short description about my previous case was that I could almost eat nothing, only eat what is normally designated for IBS menu, I was always feeling that I had to go to the Bathroom, I would have IBS-D attacks daily, even taking a lot of Imodium would not work totally, painful bowel cramps, the whole works… I could go on with the list…but you guys already know what are the symptoms from personal experience.
Doctors give this autoimmune disease the name of IBS because they are totally clueless of why this happens, so they just grab all the symptoms and put them in one bag calling it IBS… to me it is just the doctors another way of saying they are clueless but they don´t want to show it to us so they won´t look bad.
Dr. Pimentel who has come up with the theory about SIBO is the cause makes me think that he is correct, this is the only one doctor that had a clue.
Now for the Treatment that I used daily :
From 10 gram to 30 grams of L-Glutamine, to repair the damaged intestinal mucosa and lining. Repairing this will block big food particles from entering the blood stream directly due to the holes in the intestinal lining cause by the bad bacteria.
12 billion Probiotic daily at least, start by using the 50 billion probiotic and then after seeing results you may try to decrease to cheaper probiotics, but don´t go below 10 billion.
Using the SIBO treatment first if desired:
Use Xifaxan ( Rifaximin) antibiotic to wipe out the bad bacteria but this will also wipe out the good bacteria ( check for Dr. Pimentel’s SIBO treatment). While you are doing this, I advise you to take probiotics daily to compensate the bacterial slaughter in the intestines. You can also start L-Glutamine ate the same time to repair the intestinal mucosa and Lining.
After the Xifaxan Treatment, keep on taking the heavy duty 50 billion probiotic daily and glutamine. After getting better, you may try to change the dosages of L-Glutamine and Probiotics and see how you adapt to lower dosages to try to save money.
Since many if not all IBS people are prone to getting E.Coli overgrowth again, you will have to keep on taking L-Glutamine and Probiotics for the rest of your life. I am on this treatment for 1 year and now I eat Pizza, Junk food, Spicy food, drink sodas and Coca-Colas and am totally normal as I was before. I will not say I am cured because it must be an auto-immune disease, but you may keep it in check and be 100% normal by just taking this for the rest of you days ( L-Glutamine and Probiotics).
I have tried previously all know medications for IBS, Antidepressants, anxiolytics , antispasmodics, tried acupuncture, etc. and I was only 30% better, because this medicines do not fix the problem, the just drug your gut to numbness…
This treatment will take around 6 months to reach 100% improvement, but you will notice improvements after 2 months, so be patient.
Good Luck to all and may god help you!

Hiya, I'm so pleased to hear you're starting to see improvements - well done! I've been having quite a tricky time, so I reduced my probiotic and then stopped it altogether, but I think I'll try a different, weaker, one soon. Still going with the l-Glutamine for now though (but only 5g).

Hi Amanda,
I stopped taking a probiotic although I do have natural yogurt most days.
I usually take 20-30 g of l glutamine. I found 40 was too much. 20 g seems to suit me best. I've done a lot of research on this and the general consensus seems to be 20 g works best and take it on an empty stomach.

Thank you for the info - I'd like to understand the science behind why l-Glutamine is helpful really. I understand that it helps the intestine lining to heal, but why would we need to take it long term? Unless damage is still being done? Any ideas? Maybe I'll increase my dose back up for a while and see if it helps - I've been taking it everyday since January already though. Do you take all 20g at once or spread it out? Thanks again.

I think you take it long term because it's very slow to work and just doing a little bit of healing each dose?
I spread through the day so 10g first thing on an empty stomach then 5 before lunch, 5 before bed. Some days I don't take any. I was being quite strict at first but have found it easier by relaxing and not getting stressed if I miss a dose or day as taking it on any empty stomach is hard. But I read somewhere else it often doesn't work if taken with food.

Thanks for the guidance Kwazii. Hope everything's still going ok? (Not sure why claireinc's comment was deleted - may be worth trying again if you'd like to claireinc?). Thanks, Amanda

Still no improvement with the bloating but I will persevere.
Have you upped your dose Amanda?
How are you Nixman?

Hiya, I haven't yet as my tub is running low and I'm waiting for the new one to be delivered before I increase my dose so that I don't run out. I have just added in a new probiotic - I was eating a yoghurt that was 500 billion CPU each portion and I think it was just too much! I've started one which is just 2 billion, and I'll build it up slowly to 50 billion I think.

Thank you Claireinc, I hadn't thought about it like that, but that makes perfect sense :-)

Hey Maurice, along in the time that you had IBS did you have trouble getting sleep? As if you had interupted sleep? and did you find that from the buildup of gas trapped air did it make you feel as if you were "spaced out" or drunk 24/7. Glad you're health is in tip top form

Is this thread still active? Looks like nobody has posted in 11 months. I took the time to read every single comment. I, too, like you all have IBS. Let me rephrase that...I have "IBS" basically my GI threw a label on my symptoms and sent me on my way. After 2-3 months of taking my prescription meds I was given I eventually tossed them in the trash because they did NOTHING for me. It seems like I am so hit or miss with my issues. I'll either be normal or terrible. I can pig out at Taco Bell one day and be completely fine and the next day eat a healthy home cooked meal and literally have to sprint to the bathroom. Makes zero sense. But I'm going to try this. I'll give it my all and see how it works. Also, has anyone ever taken Xanax to help with the anxiety of having to always use the bathroom? I have read on other forums that it does in fact help. Hope this thread comes back to life! Thanks.
