Im in desperate need of help! My girlfriend has been extremely sick for 11 days now, after countless trips to A and E and doctors surgeries we are being fobbed off every time, her bloods and tests all come back normal and she is just keeping enough water down to stay hydrated but in a lot of pain and vomiting 20 or more times per day, losing weight quickly! As she is just* hydrated the hospital wont or cant do anything, they assume because bloods etc come back normal she is ok, Im absolutely disgusted they wont keep her in and im lost now, GP tells us to go back to A and E who inturn send us back to GP and im not sure how much more of this we can all take. Any help advice welcome 😞

Dear Andrew, There is a chance this could be Liver related and that is where you should push them to investigate. If this is a liver problem in the mean time get your girlfriend to eat egg whites no yolk or white rice in small amounts to reduce sickness. Drink milk in small amounts not water.

We have just returned from hospital and still they wont admit her they have referred her to a specialist but have been warned this could take months. As her bloods are normal they wont do anything she is very weak and still very poorly! We feel stuck with nothing else we can do.

Hi Andrew wow, talk about a rock and a hard place.  What kind of specialist has she been referred to?  It is my understanding that in the UK you have the NHS which is free for all residents but the waiting can be long. Am I correct?  I also got the understanding that you could pay out of pocket if you choose. Am I correct?  If I'm right, is it possible to get the money together from family and however and pay to see a specialist sooner?  If that's not possible, you gotta hope whatever this is resolves itself.  We have no bargain here since that miserable Obama destroyed our healthcare. Hi Zap, Sorry for the late reply but I lost my login details, basically the endoscopy found nothing unusual and my girlfriend is still very poorly, we are waiting for an appointment with the gastro to see there thoughts, we have pretty much been left to deal with it.

Hi Andrew surprised to hear from you. I figured no news is good news. Can't believe the endoscopy was clear. This is going on a long time. She must be exhausted. Hope you find the answer soon.  Keep me posted. Zap

Hello Andrew. I wondered if you had any updates on this case. I have a daughter who has similar symptoms for the past 3 weeks. We've been in and out of hospitals and are trying to get a scheduled appointment in another city 3 hours away from where we live currently.

I'm skeptical about the test they want to do (motility test) as it sounds as if it has to do more with the esophageal reactions. Her issues are more when she eats or drinks anything, her stomach hurts and she quickly vomits it back up.

I hope all has been resolved for you guys by now. Please let me know. Thanks.

I feel so sad to hear that your girlfriend suffering from health problem and she keeps on vomiting from past11 days. Hence, it is strongly advised to consult your doctor for immediately.

In the meantime, you can also follow some of the tips mentioned below to stop vomiting.

Take some rest and take it easy.

Stay hydrated; Take a sip of cold, clear, carbonated or sour drinks such as ginger ale, lemonade, water or mint tea.

Gradually start eating easy to digest foods like soda, toast, jelly, banana, rice, and chicken.

Avoid dairy products, caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, and fatty or highly spicy foods.

Take care with medicines that can make your stomach more upset.
