12 week dizzy nightmare

my story is just like so many others on this forum,i could hardly stand up through dizziness and several visits to docters and a visit to a&e have not helped at all ive been told to just keep taking serc tablets, but i still feel so dizzy and the room feels as though it is swinging round i have not dared to go out on my own for 12 weeks, but 5 days ago as i was coming home from docters in a taxi i was chatting to the driver and she told me to drink some 7up lemonade, i didnt think anything of it but later that night i was in such a state with the dizziness i asked my daughter to go get me some 7up, and of course she said it wouldnt do any good and if im honest i did think that myself but i was willing to try anything, i started sipping it slowly as i hate fizzy drinks , and i was astounded that when i woke up the next morning the dizziness was not too bad  and as i continued to sip the lemonade the dizziness was going away then the next day i laid in bed expecting to be dizzy on getting up and i wasnt, so i dont know whats going on has anyone any idea why this would happen as we are told to keep off fizzy drinks, i have not had any serc tablets for 4 days and im feeling lots better  but still darent go out in case the dizziness comes back ,im waiting to see my docter to see what she thinks but will keep sipping the 7 up till i do   thanks   for reading this

hi fudgeybear, i cant guarantee it is the 7 up that is making me feel better but its too much of a coincidence that the dizziness which has been so severe over the last 12 weeks has stopped in less than 24 hours of sipping 7 up i will let you know how the next few days are for me , thanks  mary

    Hello Mary

I've never heard of the 7up drink. Interesting. I've been feeling a constant swaying  motion for 3 yrs now , misery is what it is. I've been to different Drs , ENTs, ERs , MRIs , CT Scans, stress test , EKGs, chest X-ray , echocardiogram ...I think that's how it's pronounced ...it's kind of having an ultrasound on your heart. Well everything is fine. I have trouble standing walking being in the market it's horrible. I always have headaches.  My face hurts as if I have sinus problems...which I don't I've checked. Glad you feel better with fizzy drink   I'll have to try it. I always wake up with headache as if I didn't sleep

hi lilly, you are describing exactly how ive been feeling the constant headache was a nightmare  and i too thought it was sinus trouble. the dizziness is the worst thing though and it is worrying as docters keep saying its nothing,, but i cant explain why its suddenly stopped just by having a fizzy drink, i woke up this morning wondering if the dizziness would start as soon as i tried to get out of bed but it didnt,so hope im going to have a good day again, my daughter thinks its all in my mind but after 12 weeks i dont care as long as i can function properley and do not have to lay down all day, 7 up is just a fizzy lemonade and very sweet if you can get some it wont do you any harm to try it thanks     mary

Hi Lily,it's been 3 yrs since my Swaying / rocking began ,but last Oct/ no it's been far worse. I have rhinitis, that's been diagnosed by ENT ,had that going on 9 yrs ,plus tinnitus .

The facial pain is from the head catarrah ,I have full up ears, like I'm deaf ,but I hear fine ,again allergies. Also get neck ache with all of this ,plus fuzzy eyes ,but 3 eye test. All healthy.

So like us all, with this,I'm at as much of a loss as I was 9 yrs ago,Had MRI ,CT scan ,camera down nose and into throat .

I had all check up to have an op on my neck 2 yrs ago ,so anything was to come from that medical would have shown up something.Nothing .

I've had High BP in the past 2 yrs ,never had that prior ,so that I believe is down to all the stress from head bug ,that started this off 9 yrs ago .

I'm going to give 7 UP a try ,see what if anything happens today etc .

Hope everyone gets back  and say how they got on with this drink ,after a few days with it .Maybe medicine in a can ?

      Hello Marlene.

I too have HP...which I never did before. This is what happened. I've always suffered from anxiety panic attacks since I was 15. Id go thru the whole shaking feeling faint couldn't eat or sleep pounding heart you name it. But I was able to go on about my business after the mess. For a few years I was good , no anxiety it was GREAT !!!  In 2007 I had this fall out with my boyfriend of 9 years ...and I started feeling a little off...anxiety ...all over again ...BAD. I tell you by the grace of God I would make it to work ...I use to take the bus to work and it was horrible. I seriously thought I was going to die on the streets ...having to take the bus. I would try to sleep and I would here voices ..screams in my head. I was in FuLL blown out of control ...mentally physically  I went to Drs and one put me on HP med. they wanted me to take anti depressants but I said no. So I took HP med in 07   This lasted for 3 months. I moved out lived with sister but felt some what better. At times I felt like I needed to get out and run , from what I don't know. But my body my mind wanted to escape. I finally tried anti depressant I felt ok so I stopped taking it. I looked ill , lost weight. Then slowly I started feeling better and I was. But I still felt like swaying rocking motion. Anxious inside, as if I would had drank a strong cup of coffee. Pressure in my head eyes , felt a tug when walking ...still do that's why it's hard for me to even go for a walk. Constant headache nauseous , feeling scared nervous. It's weird cause now every time I'm eating or done eating I get lightheaded and my heart beats fast...causes anxiety and my head is way off then , like my brain is on waves and crashing. Strange. So now I'm on this med that helps with BP and anxiety. My eyes hurt, when I look side to side ...my goodness that sets it off even more ..it's like a slow motion thing but makes me feel this pressure in my head and neck. Even when I try to sleep I'm swaying ...my brain...ahh !! I'm so not myself and it's debilitating

I'm gonna try the 7up too ...had a coke ..wrong drink.  Hope you feel better. Praying.

Hi Mary. Glad you're feeling better and yes I'm gonna try 7up. I always wake up with headaches and I feel tired as if I didn't get any rest. I dred going to market or any where cause I walk and I feel like I'm going to faint. My knees don't feel strong. If I'm standing still it's worse , feels like the floor is moving from under me and my brain gets this weird feeling ...signal. So I constantly have to be moving just so I won't feel that ugly feeling if standing still. Hope that makes sense. I always look tired but it's the headache and pressure , pain in my head and neck , face. I'm so sick of this !!!  Hope you feel better. Take care.

My Lily you've had it bad ,sad story you've told there ,I've never had nightmares ,etc always sleep a good 8 hours ,even with the tinnitus ,which I know a lot don't ,

those dr meds I found Gave  me the anxiety. Not the virus .Weird how they work from one to another .Down to ones stress threshold I think. That alone is a miserable condition .if you need to take them do so if it gets you through the day with having it ,but if you can do with less do that.

How old are you ? And are you in the U K

Stay on this site ,all support you can get helps I find .

Yes I'm now sat with a can of 7 UP ,will get more tomorrow ,will take it for a solid 7 days regardless ,can't hurt any .So get some and give it a try ,but cut back on other sugars whilst on it ,no problem for me ,as I've not got a sweet tooth .Wishing you better days Lily xxx
