13 wks post op tvh and anterior repair.. In tears over tongue like tissue at entrance of back wall

Hi ladies

Some of you will know me over past few weeks on here after my surgery for tvh and anterior repair.

I had an appointment last week and my consultant was very pleased with outcome and said it was a success.

Today was the first-time I've looked and it scared me to tears.

When laying down I can see stitch line,is this normal and also the entrance to back wall I see a tongue like tissue at entrance which is part of my back wall. Don't know if this is normal or not? I have contacted my consultant and booked appointment but that's not till 3 weeks. Can anyone help out my mind at rest a little and I know it's hard to do that but any reassurance would be great in the mean time while I wait in despair for my appointment.

I could break my heart seeing that.

Thanks ladies xx

Hi. Sorry I can’t give you any information about what you see. I went to my check up today not 100% sure about how it had gone. I wasn’t sure what was normal anymore and was worried about everything not looking how I imagine It should  look. She has assured me all is repaired and after surgery and following childbirth there are always changes. I don’t think any of us look the way we assume is normal. I know that doesn’t answer your question. Most people don’t really look to see what’s happening down there , we are more aware following surgery and are very sensitive to the details that largely go unnoticed by the majority of people. Sorry I can’t really help to reassure you but try not to worry.

Ahh that's a lovely reply ange. You are so right about changes,we will never be the same u less we get cosmetic surgery..no chance of that either. I was assured last week all was fine so I must listen.. I never check down there but 13 wks after i thought I would.. I must realise surgery took place inside the vagina not outside lol. Hugs to you and everyone for a successful healthy repair xx

It’s not what I would call pretty. 🤣. But I’m not too worried about the visuals. Just relieved to be rid of bulging and dragging. That was certainly much worse and made me very self conscious.

Yes I hear you😏 I can't see bulges but all I can see if the thickness of the back wall entrance looks like the end of a tongue😏😏. Must be normal for me I don't know hun that's the worry. It may of been there before as the bulge pressed down on it lolxx

Exactly. The bit at the front is what I worried about is a fleshy ridged looking area close to the urethra which is naturally lower after childbirth but not a prolapse. She said it was there before but I won’t have looked as closely before prolapsing and after prolapse appeared the bulge covered it.

Yes I know the area you are talking about.. Before childbirth it isn't there as much. What did your consultant say about that then, that it's normal to see that?

What I see also is the entrance of the back wall is quite thick and I'm not sure orbits just my normal anatomy for me lol.. It's annoying though but it the back wall but vagina entrance. When I saw it after shower it scared me to death...😱😱

She said it is normal. Above pelvic floor but lower than someone that had never given birth. She did say as I was slim it was more visual because my labia wasn’t as fat as another persons might be. Ha.

Ah right. I'm only 8 and half stone so may be it's more noticeable in slim peop!e lol.

I’m not sure we’d look any better after cosmetic surgery! I’m sure our consultants’ aim is always to do the best they can to fix us. 😳

I know exactly what you mean by the fleshy ridged area, I worry about it too but have been reassured it is not a prolapse. It does feel like it needs pushing back up!! Surely that’s not normal?

I think Ange mentioned in here yesterday that her consultant told here that the fleshy part we see under urethra is like that after childbirth and is always lower than a woman who hasn't had children.. It sure does my head in lolx

      Hi Ange

Do you feel the spongy but under urethra when you wipe yourself?

So there isn't anything we can do about that being there?

      Is it normal then?xx

Hi, Are you in pain down there? I can see stitch lines too, and am in pain when I sit down, at the back entrance of vagina there is a ridge of tissue called the fourchette. Mine is really thin and has split, but gynae won't reconstruct because he said it might not heal all that well. Is that the tissue you mean? He told me I have very fragile fair skin that's prone to tearing. To be honest I don't care what I look like down there, just wish it wasn't so painful.

      Hi Laura

No I'm not in pain.. What I see us when I look at entrance of vagina on the back wall entrance I see what looks like a thickness to entrance of back wall..no bulges just this thick entrance to vagina.. It's part of the back wall but looks thick on entrance to it. Do you get what I mean.. Vaginas are not pretty anyway are they 😋😋😋😋xx
