150 mg for ages and struggling on 200mg sertraline

Sorry to keep asking questions people,
I've been on 150 mg of sertraline for years and was stable , recently went up to 200mg and feeling terrible after 2 weeks . Can upping your dose even if you have been in a 150mg for years really take more than 2 weeks to improve ?? I would understand if I was new to the meds but I'm not .
has anyone been through the same ?

Hi, I was told that every increase is like starting from the beginning in some ways because your body has to get used to the new dose. It can take 4-6 weeks or even longer to feel better. I have been 10 days on 200 so waiting for the first 3 weeks to be over.

with me it was like starting all over again when dose was upped from 100 to 150. Im almost settled but it has taken 8 to 12 weeks, not wanting to dishearten you, hopefully you will settle quicker as with me I let anxiety go really bad before I looked for help. hopefully you will be all good again very soon.

I totally understand you... this waiting is horrible... I am the same... really hoping to feel more positive and semi human again. The positive is that my anxiety has died down. I really hope I haven't lost 4 months....can't imagine that I would have to change meds!

It's good you can see improvements! it means Sert is working for you. Bad depression is so tough to treat... I will start 16th week on Sert next week and I am still not where I thought I would be by now...

iv been on sertraline in the past and usually around the 4 week mark i felt better that was on 150mg but this time iv had to up my dose so its taken a little longer but nearly 4 weeks in so should only get better from here (hopefully)

Please let us know sometime how are you doing. I am 2 weeks behind you.. I improved slightly on 150 but I felt it's not gonna be enough for my severe depression.

How long have you been on SERT in total? Low mood is my biggest problem now... and I still don't enjoy anything the way I normally would.
