Hello all, for everybody still waiting/thinking about having the Op I'm here to say

Go for it, I've waited 5 years and was at the stage I could barely put 1 foot in front of the other

But 17 days in and I'm walking comfortably on my 2 crutches and that awful dread of putting weight

On my hip has gone, after reading on this forum how well some people are

Doing I think I need to up my walking etc as at the moment I'm just tottering

Around the house.

Good luck to anybody schedueled for the Op and for anybody still thinking about it GO for it you won't regret

It. X

Hi Ann, yes at 17 days it would be good for you to take short walks.  A little further every day.  You will gradually get stronger every day.  Good luck

    hi ann,

thank you for posting such encouraging words - my story is more or less the same - couldn't believe that I had severe OA and needed hip surgery .. this was 4 years in to telling my self that I pulled a muscle in my groin - and still I waited ...

anyway, great to hear how well you are doing - please don't compare yourself to others - we all heal at a different rate ...

do you have physical therapy ?

17 days post-op is still early in recovery from this major surgery -

take care and keep us posted

    big warm hug

    renee
