18 days since turp surgery

it has been 18 days since surgery, light bleeding some days but not heavy. i am peeing every 45 minutes now and am hoping to start to process of getting better in that area. i see my doctor this Friday for my first follow up, it will give me a chance to discuss my progress or lack of it. i still have times of urgency and have to run to bathroom. so i do not know how i am doing i guess until i speak to doctor to discuss my symtoms. i was hoping by this time i would see a better change in my symtoms. Thanks for listening.

I hope things get better for you. Was the turp the only procedure you were offered. And did you research any thing else Ken

  i was offered the microwave procedure with a 70% chance of working. i would be awake for that one so i choose the turp, being knocked out and going home 3 hours later.

  3 hours later after TURP??? I was told at least an over night stay maybe more if I had TURP. What had Sounds more like green laser

  In New Zealand you are kept in Hospital overnight to check on bleeding. 3 hours after , goodness me you must have felt groggy.

  I had TURP in November. Surgery was at 4 pm. In my room just before 8 pm. Released at 11 am. Could have left earlier but that's check out time.

  i could have driven home but my buddy was there to get me and they would not release me if i did not have someone there.

  Nurse wheeled me out, wouldn't let me move til my wife drove the car up to the hospital entrance. Wouldn't let me walk to the car

Think the blood issue is coming right but remember your Prostrate has been cut. Suspect it may just take a little more time.

Let's hope for the best. How did the catherter go? Can you describe that experience?

  i had it in for 48 hours, i went in to the office at 9am and they told me to lay back and i would feel a small pain. Before i new it the catherter was gone. i was told if i could not pee on my own be back by 3pm to have a new catherter put in. i peed as soon as i got home. i was so happy to have that thing out of me.

  The instruments and 3 way Foley catheter are bigger than your urethra. So it gets stretched a bit.

  They wouldn't release me til I peed. Shows them bladder muscles will work. First time I was on my own. Second time nurse put fluid in my bladder before she removed the Cath.
