18 with mild/extreme sciatica

Hello, I am 18 years old, and I have sciatica radiating through my hip, down to my ankle. I am currently on 2 naproxin, 1 flexiril, and 4 tylenol 3s a day. I start chiropractic services tomorrow. The pain is still extreme down my leg, to the point where I can barely walk. The medication is not working very well. Is there something I should ask my doctor to put me on?

Best of luck with your chirpractic services. I am on naproxen and gabapentin, neither help with the pain. Even a large dose of whiskey fails to ease the pain. Others have suggested stronger pain killers like tramadol or valium. Today i get the result of my MRI scan so hopefully a plan of action comes out and after ten weeks of extreme pain some light at the end of the tunnel.
Good luck, Graham

Tramdol althought good for pain can become additive as it contains morphine so should only be used sparingly

Tramadol is a centrally acting opiod analgesic, used to treat moderate to severe pain. I worked on the chemical synthesis of tramadol and the separation of it's isomers some years ago. It does not contain morphine. There are many side effects associated with tramadol, hence it should be taken with care.
Trust me I am a chemist
