18 with mild/extreme sciatica

Hello, I am 18 years old, and I have sciatica radiating through my hip, down to my ankle. I am currently on 2 naproxin, 1 flexiril, and 4 tylenol 3s a day. I start chiropractic services tomorrow. The pain is still extreme down my leg, to the point where I can barely walk. The medication is not working very well.  Is there something I should ask my doctor to put me on?

    Hi Devan

I was diagnosed 5 days ago with sciatica but luckly its only mild compared to yours. I only take panadol as my painkiller they are good for inflamation, I do however use a TEN's machine ( transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) which I find is quite a pain reliever worth trying.  Keeping mobile as much as you can bare its better than being  immobilesed... whilst sitting or laying down rotate your ankle and lift your leg exercise helps. I live in Dorset UK . Hoping you get better soon. Francesca

Thanks everyone for their thoughts! I took 1 Tylenol 3 at 11 pm last night and woke up at 5 this morning, and took another. I slept quite well compared to most nights. I can still barely walk during the day, I have my chiro appointment soon so hopefully it remedies some of my pain.
