29yrs old with severe constipation.

Hi, I haven't had a natural bowel movement in about 4 months I also have pain through out my gut but mostly on left side oof abdomen upper/lower. I also have mucus no blood when I do go and I burp often. Most laxatives arare in effective. I have a colonoscopy dec30th im scared. Anyone have advice??

    You might know it as Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease GORD. It is also known as GERD - different spelling and yes I mean a month without going at all.  I try to keep on top of it by going once a week now by taking the Movicol and yes it makes you feel uncomfortable and unwell.  Macrogol is another name for it but unsure as to whether it is available in USA.  Im sure you will have an equivalent there.  I like that it doesn't give you debilitating cramps, it's relatively cheap and easy to use.  Cheers
