2nd lot of antibiotics for chest infection and no improvement

Posted , 7 users are following.

Help!! I am on my 2nd lot of Cephalexin antibiotic for a chest infection and have 2 days to go. I have seen no improvement though and am feeling very unwell. I understand I have to finish the whole course but feel there should be some improvement. Today I need to make a decision do I sit it out until Monday and go back to the doctors or should I be taking this more seriously and go to our walk in centre to get checked out? I really don't want to go out as I feel so unwell but I worry with the MTX that maybe I need a different antibiotic.... They do have problems prescribing antibiotics for me as I am allergic to penicillin and am on MTX

Totally agree & from now on ill be double checking before I take anything as it's my health. When I phoned the rheumy they advised don't take mtx until told to do so although it was too late as I took the night before they told me to stop. X

Thanks to the lovely Mrs Mop I have downloaded an App called drugs.com. You can put in your meds and when given a new one add it and it will show interactions. I only have MTX and prednisolone entered as adding all my meds brings up a ridiculous amount of interactions and I have been on the others long term. It is only the MTX and pred interactions that I am checking... 😊 x

My reply is being moderated by the site because I mentioned another useful app to use and they don't like that... Waiting to see if it goes through 🙈🙈🙊

You must be feeling a bit better today, being a naughty girl adding links.

That chciken soup was good, sorry you didn't get any.

But, this Essex lad likes to know that the Essex girl has a smile.

Knew you were on the mend as soon as you posted i want him.

Keep the chin up Lisa, always like to know how your doing and the friendly banter.

Smile and the world smiles with you, cry and my shoulder gets wet.

      I'm blushing now!!

And, thanks to the lovely Lisa, I have just downl;oaded the app!!  I have only ever used the Interactions checker on my PC and never on my phone.  I found it in the Play app store for those who have an Android phone.

I think I have some improvement but a long path ahead. They left it far too long to start treating it. I have to go for a chest x ray as soon as I can.... Not well enough to go to hospital yet... That sounds kind of crazy! 😂😂😂 x

      Dear John (😂😂😂)

I've definitely had slight improvement but the best medicine ever was mum and dad coming round today.

Always try to keep the chin up... Which explains why I walk into so many lamposts!

No chicken soup here but I have ice cream. I think that means I win... Oh did I mention 3 different lots of ice cream?....😂😂😂😂😂☀️☀️☀️

It's really rather sad but all thes drugs have made me go off some things, like ice cream and potatoes, not that I ever had them together.  Have also gone off gravy!

So yyou don't put ice cream in your mashed potatoes to them creamy then cover with gravy.

What happened to your spirit of adventure, biggrin

John how kind and caring you are. Thank you 😊☀️ I have no idea what happened as everything seemed better chest infection wise although mum said I was looking more ill every time she saw me. Long story short... Which we all know I'm not very good at! My doctor failed yet again and as the day went on yesterday the cough got so bad I demanded an appt with a different doctor who sent me straight to hospital. On IV drop antibiotics and all sorts and they say in here for 3 to 4 days 😟 please walk the dog for me 😊 and eat ice cream until you pop! Bless you John. It touched my heart that you even noticed 😇 mrs mop if you are reading this I haven't forgotten you 😉😊 will e mail as soon as I can. Only limited amount of screenwork 😊😊 you guys are amazing. Thank you 💜☀️😇 xxxx

Hi Lisa, have just spotted this.  I'm sorry/pleased [if you know what I mean] to read that you are in hospital again

They should have admitted you 8 days ago, or whenever it was.  I do hope they sort you out this time and I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Am horrified to read that you posted that your were unwell 12 days ago, that is nearly a fortnight since you sounded as though you ought to have been in hospital.

Get well quickly now Lisa xx

      Hey John, I'm back!

Just briefly catching up with the forum as I am so behind with everything.

The hospital food was poop and for the 10 days I was in there I ordered ice cream for both lunch and dinner which I managed to get 3 times as they kept running out! I am now back within reach of my freezer!i hope you and dog are doing well.

By the way I think I'm reading my notifications backwards! If it all gets a bit confusing...... I sure didn't have a lobotomy ...... Not that they told me about anyway! 😂😂😂😂😂

      Hi Lisa,

Good to have you back with us.

The dog and i are so tired and she has sore paws to.

We have been touring the Essex hospitals trying to find you.

Had to eat so much ice cream that i bought for you as it kept melting along the way.

If and i hope not that you go into hospital again, you will have to let me know which one. Then i can bring the ice cream to you..

Don't try to do to much to quickly, if you need your back washed let me know and i'll be round.

Promise to keep my eyes shut, no peeking i promise.

Take care, good to hear from you.

Cheeky monkey 🙊🙈🙊🙈😂😂 I kept trying to break out of hospital! I am trying not to do too much but I find being inactive very difficult. As for the ice cream thanks to the massive dose of steroids they whacked me on I've put on 3 pounds.... I'm an Essex girl... Seriously it's more disastrous than breaking a nail! 😂😂😂😂

I have sent you an e mail. No hurries. I think it might have been quite jumbled as I had no idea where we were up to with my vacation!! I have a rotten cold... Can you believe it? 😂😂😂😂😂 I think I can cope with that though. I went to the doctors yesterday in my pyjamas.. Never done that before! Had to get bloods done for specialist appt next week and I demanded that I change my doctor to be told 'it is not usual practice to do that' it took me about 3 minutes to get their practice changed and I am now with the doctor who sent me to hospital 😊😊😊😊 xxx

lollollol Seriously !!!!!!!!!! you put 3 pounds on in hospital.lollollol

You had better give them a a mention, no body puts on weight in hospital.

I am sure that you look just great even with those new love handles.

Think you have a thing about my hairy chest, keep calling me a monkey.

But, the cheeky bit is what i am, a cheeky cockney chappy.

I see you went to the doctors in your PJ's. Now have the doctor you said "I want him" when he visited you before goping into hospital.

Didn't take him long to get you into those PJ's, a ture Essex girl at work.

I put 3 pounds on in hospital due to my friend sending large amounts of patisserie cakes in and my mum bringing me food not to mention the lovely steroids! The hospital were marvellous.... The food was not!!! 😵😵😂😂 I can't get the doctor who came to see me that weekend unless I move house which is a bit drastic! I have managed to get the one who has twice now sent me to hospital and has treated everything seriously. I assure you it was nothing to do with my pjs.... More the look on my face! You do know hairy chests get waxed in Essex... Male or female! My mums family are cheeky cockneys. Well the older generation so I know me lucy lockets from me jimmy riddles! 😉 combination of Essex and cockney.... Lethal!!😂😂😂😂😂
