2ND PIP REVIEW
Posted , 3 users are following.
I was due to receive my 2nd pip review form on 19 oct 18, as my current claim expires 19 oct 19. To date I have heard nothing but, payments are still being paid. I am on higher rates for both parts of pip. Is is possible, due to light touch reviews, that they may just extend my period, or, should I give them a bell.

Hi,
Were you awarded by a Tribunal? If so then DWP will contact you 14 weeks before your award is due to end.

No. First awarded pip, then after two years pip review, retained original award of both higher rates. As stated, year before run out last oct, but, nothing heard

Then you need to ring them. Light touch reviews are only for awards of 10 years (ongoing)

Hi just curious to see what the outcome was, did you ring them, they are really struggling with a back log at the moment

Will be ringing tomorrow, let you know

Did you manage to get any closer to knowing what's going on

Got GP appointment tomorrow, they have found 3cm blockage in my iliac artery, but, because of heart condition there will be no intervention because of risk. Will be contacting them with a deterioration claim instead.

Sorry to hear that
I hope it goes well and asking for a reassessment doesn't jepodise your claim, if you have the results in paper format from your consultant and can explain to DWP how it's causing a loss of independence then surely that's all you need to report a change of circumstance

Got mri results and cardiovascular surgeons recommendations

Then paperwise that would probably be sufficient and obviously you feel you would be entitled to a higher rate of pip
Had it effected you enough to be worth doing it

Hi Oldman ,
I'm sorry to hear that.
Before reporting a worsening of condition may i ask if you've taken a look at the PIP descriptors to see where you can score those extra points for a higher award?
Does the evidence you have state exactly how your conditions affect your ability to carry out daily activities based on the PIP descriptors? So many people report a worsening of condition before looking to see where they can score those extra points. PIP isn't about a diagnosis, it's now those conditions affect you.
Please also bare in mind that for a worsening of condition you must have had the condition for at least 3 months and expect it to last at least a further 9 months.

Cannot get any higher award. Blood flow to leg is reduced by 75% causing severe hip pain and cramps after four/five steps

I'm confused now as to why you are considering going for a change of circumstance if the award will stay the same, just wait for the review and do it instead of starting your claim again and risking it changing

I'm really confused here too, sorry. I'm not sure why you're putting in a change of circumstances for a worsening condition if you can't get the higher award.
Going back to the very reason you started a thread here 8 weeks ago you asked should you have been contacted 1 in October 2018 for your review because your claim ends in October 2019. Two weeks ago you said you were contacting DWP to ask why they haven't sent you the review forms, did you contact them to ask this question?

Because of gp appointment. Have looke into things and found out, if you do not have a review date they will write to you 12 week before runout and reapply for pip. Thus deterioration claim to keep award alive

with no review date you end up having to reapply for pip

All awards given by DWP have review dates and forms are sent 1 year before the award is dure to end, as previously advised. If you were awarded by the DWP then please ring them tomorrow and ask why you haven't been sent a review form.

my last award didn't

If it was PIP it would definitely have had an end date, if it was DLA it wouldn't have, so could you please have a look at the letter you received informing you of the award you where given

Completely agree with Alexandria. I have been claiming PIP since it first came out and review forms are always sent 1 year before the award is due to end.

Looked at PIP letter, your review has awarded you higher for both components, the award is from 19 oct 16 to 19 oct 19. There is no review date mentioned on this letter

All you can do is ring, as previously advised. There's no other advice we can give.
