Dear Nadia, it will get better gradually. Take your pain meds, try to do your exercises. Try to get out for a walk using your crutches, sometimes it's good to get out. Have you any friends that you could see? The nights are rubbish, think all hippies would agree with that, but they will get better. Take it easy.

I had pain and spasms in both legs post surgery and three weeks seems to be a down period because you don't see the progress you want. Keep pressing forward, one day you will get up and the progress you are looking for will be there.
?
?I also found if I drank a protien shake daily it helped the muscle to repair and reduced pain.

I'm 3weeks 5 days and im still on crutches. You DONT come off crutches until you are ready , feel confident, safe and stable. We 3-4 are very very hard . We HAVENT all had the same operation , we have had similar. You go at your own speed , listen to your body . XXXX rest rest rest and your exercises 😉😘😘😘😘

Hazil that's exactly the same as me . I try a bit with one crutch but I'm not ready for that at all , there's just no strength in that leg . I have the stinging in the scar too and goin pain xxx

Actually you are so very right there - we have had similar operations, not the same one. It's like baking a cake, even if you use the same recipe, it will turn out slightly different.

Yes bobbi I asked the physio is one leg longer than the other and he said no it just feels that way . If I overdo it my scar stings like someone is slicing my leg open ( which of course they have done 😀😀
so then I know it's time to rest . I cannot go on one crutch outside .. And I lurched to the toilet today with NO crutches . I hasten to add it was about three feet away and lurch is the correct word as I looked like an extra from the walking dead lol

Sorry to hear that you have such sadness. Perhaps you can telephone you Czech family?
Surgery is a big deal...you are given anaesthesia which takes quite a while for you to recover from. And lots of pain killers which can also make a person feel down.
When you limp on one leg, you can overwork the good leg. I agree, the not being able to drive is difficult.
It sounds like you are home alone...perhaps a work mate can pick you up for work. If you have a desk job, a couple of half days work per week would be something to consider.
And lack of sleep can make both pain and the blues worse. My neurologist suggested Itake Melatonin 3 mg two hours before bedtime.. you do not need a prescription for this.
Just getting sleep will make you feel a lot better.
Warm hugs...this is a great place to make friends who .will help you through.
kind regards
,judith

Friends are so very wonderful...one day you may be able to return their kindnesses.
A nursing home is hard work! It takes a very special person to work with ill people all day...
Physio, how fabulous. That means you are healing well.
Do an extra repetition for me,,chuckle chuckle
