hi

i recently had gallbladder removed (laparoscopy)due to g/b flare up's & having large stone which was seen on previous ultrasound.

x3 weeks now since had op, which the Dr removed thickened wall gallbladder

but no mention of large stone.?

first x2 weeks I've been in discomfort & burning,on upper abdomen across top & left side.. Feel extremely tired hot/cold chills..

Then felt ok for few days, but now have a sudden onset of right side pain (operation area) & extremely painful to bend over forwards and getting up/down out of chair etc..also feel freezing cold then feel hot.

loss of appetite & feel  nausea.

also I am not passing much urine.

If anyone else has felt like this post op gallbladder removal or could give me any information I would be

really appreciate it as I have no idea what is going on.

thank you

    Hi.

Sounds like you should see your doctor for X-ray and a RX for enzymes when u eat.

sounds very uncofortable. I'm sure there is something hr can do for you.

Sharron for God's sake, get yourself to a Specialist, don't mess around, that doesn't sound normal after a Laparoscopic gall bladder removal!! Why did they remove it? Why didn't they just clean it out (tube down neck) if there weren't any stones? I'd be going straight back, it's your body, you are the one suffering, get onto it ASAP!!! Good luck.

      hi

i think they removed the gallbladder in case I had more gallstones in future.. But on day of operation the gallstone wasn't their like previously on scan.

I've been back to my gp's today & he suggested that I have a ultrasound & blood tests done, but did say it's early days still and everyone is different

some heal quicker than others inside. .

Hi 3 weeks post op is nothing. I saw a gastro 2 months after my surgery and he told this so I guess you need to give more time for things to heal inside. They might say is a common procedure but in reality is much more than that. Your digestive system changes forever and the liver needs to get use not having the storage back up it used to. It will hurt for a while when you move or bend. Try not to lift anything too heavy but do talk about what you're feeling with your doctor or surgeon if you need so. Happy recovery xx

Give yourself time Sharon 3 weeks is nothing. I am waiting for gallbladder removal because I have a gallstone. I have talked to loads of people who have had this op and they all say how much better they feel afterwards.

    Be patient.

    Take care

      hi

yes Its still early days (3 weeks) as my gp did also say today....because some people do heal inside quicker than others.

but he has suggested that I go for blood tests & a ultrasound scan.

just have to take one day at a time, and hopefully will get there.

Take care & good luck for your op

Hi I'm 3 weeks post op and I'm really struggling. How long did you take to heal. My incisions are healing well but I'm finding eating a real struggle, I feel weak and struggle to sleep. I am really trying to get better but I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel yet. Maybe tmi but I can't stop pooing today and my arm joint really hurt. Also get cold aches in my arms could this be gallbladder op related??

Hi Keri (my name is also Carey)

I'm just a few days post op and experiencing a less than desirable recovery. I'm experiencing the same symptoms I had before the gallbladder removal after I eat anything, and I haven't eaten anything more than graham crackers and smoothies.

And my arm joint (the right one) does hurt after I try to eat. The pain also goes down my arm at times. I can't help but be terrified. My drs never gave any warning that I may feel this way after surgery, they made it sound like I'd be pain free with the exception of the incisions, which are healing nicely, I'm moving around pretty well so at least that's a positive!

    Hi Sharon,

OMG..I am exactly as you. Had my surgery 3 weeks ago and am experiencing the EXACt pain as you. My husband was ready to take me to ER but I hesitated and started googling and came up your story. Ithank you for sharing and maybe I do need to give myself more healing time. But the pain is so uncomfortable. I'm not sure whether to wait a while longer (since Dr said 6wks healing time) or go to him and request blood work and xray or ultrasound

hi jonalyn. i had my surgery last jan. 11 and my doctor told me i can work yesterday. I know i am not feeling well yet, but i tried to report for work just to see if i can make it. No, i only lasted half day, i cant seat too long and my back is hurting me. I ask for another one week more from work to rest (hope another week is enough). I called the doctor about my back pain and sometimes my stomach pain, he said its normal and he said too, healing time is 6weeks but some people can go back to their normal work at 2 weeks.  I have recorded everything i ate after my operation and mostly its just soup with vegetables with chicken or just fish with vegetables. I just dont know what food i ate that makes the pain yet. Hope you feel better and i am glad i found this site, i thought i am just alone with this problem. Thank you.

Take your time. I had my gallbladder removed nearly 2 years ago. Fortunately I had already retired so didi not have to think about going back to work.

I do remember being very tired for quite a while afterwards.

Hope you feel better soon .

Take care and keep in touch
