Does anyone have a higher heart rate & dizzi spells with mono? I've been measuring my heart rate and blood pressure. Prior to falling ill, 4m ago, i had a resting heart rate of 60-70 and blood pressure of 120/70. now my heart rate is 85-95+ and blood pressure is 140/80+.

      hi ashley

yeah, it definitely feels like this is a common post viral symptom. the dizzy spells can make me feel pretty anxious sometimes but i think they're becoming less severe

I have noticed my resting blood pressure is fine but when i do any activity my heart rate goes up pretty quick and get pretty high that also may be from being so out of shape after 7 months but at the beginning my resting BP was like 150-90 i was on bp medicine for a few months now it is closer to normal usually below 120/80 with a rest heart rate between 58-70

No one has checked my blood pressure. But my heart rate is around 76 at the lowest. I feel shaky and dizzy at times.

David , I have been fighting EBV for about 17 months . I am doing better slowly . But yes to answer your question about the elevated heart rate . For me its up and down and when my resting heart rate goes up i feel ill and tired for a few weeks . Then my resting heart rate will go down and I feel better for a few weeks . Its a roller coast ride but it does slowly get better .

Hello, I have definitely experienced a more reactive heart that will pound much more easily from physical activity than before. My blood pressure will be fairly low when i am totally relaxed, like 120s to 130s, but i am easily stressed and the number can be on in the 150s when i am fatigued and stressed. heart rate when resting will be around 60, but like i said it more easily pounds during exercise and i get winded more easily. Ive been having these issues just shy of two years now, along with a sore throat that comes and goes and getting hot more easily. fortunately the flu like symptoms and dizziness i got have been gone for over a year now. i live quite an active lifestyle and appear very healthy to others. i generaly function at about 90 percent most of the time but i still have some symptoms yet to subside such as the blood pressure stress issue. good to hear several of us have had these symptoms. i had a positive mono diagnosis november 2017.

Im also 28 Josh. I had the chest xray and holter monitor and everything almost two years ago when it first started and everything came out okay besides the high blood pressure. Ive had an additional ekg or too the most recent one was in october and it was normal. I used to worry about it more than i do now, but yeah im a pretty fit climbing coach that doesnt smoke or drink and ive been reassured a lot. my symptoms havent gotten worse over time either which is reasuring. i just believe it will all fade away eventually with good consistent lifestyle choices.

ive gotten some forms of chest pain. its almost always surface type of pains, like i think its from my chest wall like the fascia more so. ive never gotten like chest pain from exercising to where it feels like my heart is weak or anything. its never been the squeezing type of chest feeling they talk about either. but yeah little pains that come and go, its been less common in the last six months or so. i think they the doctors are pretty good at being able to tell if your heart has a problem but i totally relate with your worry. I bet youre fine in that area of health and its just a byproduct of the inflamation this viral thing does to the body.
