4 weeks post op and stomach swelling

Hi I am 4 weeks after a abdominal hysterectomy (still got ovaries). I thought I had been recovering well with no pain and no complications until now. I have started to experience stabbing(stinging) pains around my incision and my stomach swells by the end of the day. I am not lifting but walking around a lot. Could it be that??
Thanks

anxiety is a horrible thing , have they looked at any hrt options, ( if able to take them ) as with your ovaries being removed if you were not menopausal before you definitely are now. This may have an impact on the feelings of anxiousness .
Its very early days for you and honestly things will improve , just not as quick as you would like .
take care xx

Well, this is just such a helpful forum, thank you! I was freaking out alittle today, as I was getting scared from my own more recent pains.
I am 4.5 weeks after a laparoscopic hysterectomy, and also had an infection they found in my fallopian tubes, which led to two abscesses on either side of my abdomen, attached to my intestines. After surgery, resting, and copious antibiotics i have felt stronger every day with no further sign of infection. So although I am still not back to work (in a very busy/strenuous restaurant gig), i have started walking, running errands, and doing laundry in small loads during the past week or so... i thought i was getting back to "normal".
But I now am experiencing some deep soreness, bloating/swelling and tenderness to the touch around my belly button after a few activities, such as today after bending to pull a few weeds in my front yard. Also, after my first few more lengthy walks, and doing one session of gentle yoga poses, I experienced similar soreness. This makes me really nervous about going back to work this week, but after reading some of these responses, it sounds like this just takes a while to heal fully and, since i can't stay home forever, i will just be extra careful and make sure I rest plenty when not at work!

I am 4 weeks post op. i had an abdominal hysterectomy. They removed my uterus & cervix, i still have both of my ovaries. The skin above and around my incision are hyper sensitive to the touch. The skin is super sensitive (stabbing, stinging, pulling) to the touch. The Dr told me that it was nerves healing and regrowing. i am heading back to work in two days (mainly cause i sit all day at a desk). I am glad to hear that I am not the only one experiencing these issues. It has definitely eased my anxieties.
I have been experiencing the stinging sensation around the incision, bloating, & soreness, especially at the end of the day. sleep does not always come easy.

I am almost 4 weeks post op, I had total hysterectomy and they took the cover to my intestine away plus a 12cm solid cyst which was attached to an ovary and also fused to my bowel. The bowel was lacerated in the process but touch wood not to much damage. I have the stabbing and stinging tender feeling, my skin is hanging over the scar, I am also getting shooting pains near the vaginal Cuff, that's where they sew you back up after the cervix is removed.
I keep crying and just feel terrible. I bought a belly binder before the op, this helps support the abdomen, My tummy doesn't feel like it belongs to me so I couldn't possibly not ware the support. Most ladies stories I have read there seems to be pain or discomfort continually for always, this is not a bright outlook. I tried to join the forum Hystersisters, I fill in the form on line but the register button does not work.
