I saw my surgeon 3 months after op I also had anterior prolapse repair and 6 months before posterior prolapse repair, I explained about the pain and she said to see my G.P as the pain would not be to do with surgery. But I was fine until I had these surgerys, I have another appointment next week with gyni surgeon and am still experiencing pain it sometimes feel like pressure on my bladder, I have had 3 month course of hrt pessaries. Please can anyone help, I do not want to be told again its not to do with op, I had none of these problems before these 2 ops

I had TAH BSO back in July I keyhole surgery in December due to terrible abdominal and back pain tummy still swollen mostly on left side x. I have mass adhesions and I am now going back in 31st March for open surgery again with vertical cut to remove them x I am aware that in 3-5 years time may come back but a risk I will take for some relief if only for a while it's terrible x when you go back next week just mention adhesions just as you have mentioned you have had a few surgeries? Please let me know how you get on next week xx Nic

I can't believe some of these doctors/surgeons like I said before I have pestered my consultant every week as you know your own body and you know when it's not right, I just can't wait to get this one over with quite nervous but the adhesions are moving down towards where my ovary was very uncomfortable, yes please go and see your doctor again he may refer you to another consultant for a second opinion I have had 2 my first was not too nice but the one I have now is fab just goes at a snail pace hahaha let me know how it goes with the doctor hon fingers crossed, the only thing is if it is adhesions they aren't picked up on a scan mine was discovered in December when I had a laparoscopy then had to wait 3 months before this surgery hence snail pace hahah xxx speak soon my lovely take care and let me know xxxx Nic

I'm approx 5 months post LAVH BSO. Had some major adhesions that need sorting at same time as well...am in similar position with pain in left side and lower abdomen. i was told adhesions could reform after the surgery. Waiting a 'referred-back' appointment..was told 2-6 weeks for that...It eventually came at the end of the 6 weeks for an appointment in mid April, so will be 12 weeks again since referred again! Seems my biopsies for cancer were benign so they can take their time again! So annoying...
Never got to see my surgeon post op, only my GP.
also never got told results of tests they had to do due to surgeons assistant being stuck by needle as surgeon sewed me up! Had to ask GP, who said 'oh they'd have been in touch if anything wrong'!!
My GP has been a bit useless all through my experiences.
Seeing her again today as she allowed me to go back to work on restricted duties as a part time TA to Reception/Y1's (only doing one morning a week). Managed first week with strong pain meds after, wiped out for next couple days as well. My second week (last week), I could barely walk for the pain in my side. Hadnt done anything too mad, but did spend an hour outside in the freezing cold, on my feet. Felt so ill since. Pain in side still quite bad.
I did have pain from adhesions before (thouht didnt know it was them causing it till they discovered everything glued to each other and to my back.
Most pain is a lot better since they worked on the adhesions with the hyst, but have feeling the LHS where they did the most work, is where they might have reformed some..all surgeries can cause them unfortunately so it's swings and roundabouts.
Hope you get some help/answers Lesley. (Hoping I do too). Sometimes it helps just knowing you're not suffering alone...feel less hypochondirac if you know what I mean.
best wishes
k

The side pain I am now experiencing didn't start till a few weeks after the surgery, and went from being intermittent to almost constant now, just worse at times. Been building up my stamina walking my little dog, but now walking is getting painful, as is trying to lie flat with legs straight..hence the possible adhesion diagnosis..hopefully will find out what is going on and get sorted. Would like to get some sort of life back!
Was hopeful after surgery life was going to improve, and it has in some ways for sure-no longer prop up sales in ladies aisle and no longer completely restricted in planning trips (except for this pain)..being profoundly deaf already provides me enough challenges.
Best wishes
