6 week check up and all is well

Just got home from the hospital after my check up.  Was sent for Xrays first, one lying flat and one with knee bent and turned outwards. Replacement is right where it should be.  Consultant said I was walking well and tried to take away my crutch, but I said I needed it to poke people in the supermarket who came too near with their trolleys.  The 'infection' is a mystery.  Consultant poked and prodded me and said there is no infection there now.  He asked me what made me think I had an infection and I described the pain, the redness and that it felt hot and he just said "Hmmmm", difficult to say without seeing it at the time".  Told me yto finish off the course of antibiotics anyway.  He think the lump/fluid is a haematoma and should disperse.  I forget when he said he wanted to see me again - it was either 3 months ot 6 months.

Happy me cheesygrin

    Hi

Im so pleased you are feeling happy, it must be a lovely feeling.  Now you can drive I bet there will be no stopping you from doing all the things you've been wanting to do. Make the most of it and go out and do the things you have been wanting to do.

Hope you carry on with your improvements and don't have any more setbacks.

Sorry, accidentally pressed reply button instead of backspacing whilst trying to brush toast crumbs off my keyboard redface

Yes, being able to drive is fabulous.  Still got pain from this lump of fluid behing my scar.  Am on second course of antibiotics although no-one seems to agree whether it's an infection or not.  All I know is that it isn't right, is causing me pain and making me waddle because it hurts when I put all my weight on that leg..  Oh for a straightforward recovery.  I keep thinking "Why me" but of course it isn't just me that has had problems.  It still makes you feel down though when you just wanted everything to go right.
