Hi Kath, I had my 2 week check to get my stitch clipped. I had 1 long hidden stitch with a knot on each end. All they did was clip each knot and I was on my way. I have another appointment 6 weeks out from that one. With my first hip, it was the same. At that appointment, I didn't have xrays or anything, just a chat with the surgeon. I wouldn't worry about when your follow up is unless you are having major problems. Good luck, and hope all is well.

Hi CG.  I got staples, they was ok just a couple more than ready to come out and embedded a little not too sore to get out.  I will just be happy to get that check and an all clear.

    Hi Kath,

6 weeks seems to be the magic number - some restrictions might be lifted etc.

My  follow up appointment post op of 1st THR was 8 weeks , and now, 6 weeks post op of 2nd THR, my follow up appointmment is in 3 weeks - so 9/10 weeks !

it is a scheduling thing - not cool of course when they forget to schedule an appointment .. An x-ray was taken right before appointment - surgeoin manipulated my leg and, at that time, mentioned that my other hip's cartilage was gone from mild to bone-on-bone - some restrictions were lifted, still had to be careful with breaking the 90 degrees -

I called to ask for an earlier date , and was told that i was put on a cancellation list .

Other than the muscle aches and healing pains I am doing good -

    big warm hug

Renee, I am hoping what I have had for the last two days are healing pains.  I know I may have overdone things a little as I have had all the house re-carpetted.  My family have moved all the furniture and the men that fitted the carpet was really good.   There is always something that you need to do for yourself hence the pains.  I might ask about cancellation.  Thanks Kath x
