I am 6 weeks in after broken ankle surgery.

Been in a walking boot for the last 1 1/2 weeks but still no wb

How long does it take for foot colour to return to normal and all the feelings to come back.

Hi , I'm almost 5 weeks post-op ankle surgery and was wondering how your recovery went. I haven't had any setbacks thus far and am in a boot but nwb. Can you give me sum insight on how your recovery faired out?

      Hi

      Initially all good.

Had to learn to walk again after nwb but at my 12 week check up Walked without my crutches.

Had physio, and built up on my walking.

Unfortunately I ended up with lots of back problems because of initial resting and leg ellavation but just coming out the other side of that now too.

Last week started back doing yoga and seem to have nearly full movement back.

All the best with your recovery

Thank you for sharing! I'm having back issues also, same reason. I am anxious to start physical therapy and hopefully walk again as you are. This injury has been such a loss for me in other areas of my life that I don't want it to take anything else from me. I wish you the best!!

      Physio was fine

The scariest is the un known.

Eventually little by little confidence will come back

It's taken just over a year to get to where I am today.

      Everyone is different

Go at the pace that you are comfortable with

      All the best

Hi there!  I was given a "walking boot" (CAM boot) 2 weeks post surgery.  I am still NWB until my next appointment which will be 6 weeks post op. The boot is acting as a fracture boot. So for me it's like having a cast only I'm allowed to take it off to shower and to do exercises during the day.  Hope this helps!

Wow this site is awesome and full of information. I'm 4 days shy of 6 weeks post op ankle surgery. Dying to walk and go back to some sort of work. I've bee. non weight bearing for almost 6 weeks. Fingers are crossed that come this Thursday on my 6 weeks review I get the go ahead to wear a boot and actual weight bearing walking. I've been down since June 12th, Orthopedic surgery wanted to try conventional repair method (Time Heals) and with the 1st 4 weeks of non weight bearing.. and it not healing I Opted for Ankle surgery wasn't gonna play around with more wasted time if it wasn't healing.

Your guy's responses make me believe I might just have a chance at walking ... praying 🙏❤🙏
