6 weeks of constant headaches - no relief / going crazy

Hi everyone. I'm after some possible insight / advice on what I'm currently going through. I will go through as many symptoms as possible, although I'm aware some might be from something different entirely. I started getting a heavy pressure at the back of my head around 6/7 weeks ago, was primarily at the back and kind of felt like my head had a big weight hanging from the back and someone was pushing hard against my skull from the inside. In the next few days this was accompanied by very frequent and fairly severe headaches. These have now been part of my life for the past 6 weeks. The headaches and pains I get differentiate. Mostly it's a dull throbbing at the back of my head. But recently quite often I get what I can only explain as a very sore burning pain on a small area of my forehead and sides of head. I get pains on both sides although i would probably crown the right side for most pain caused. I do get dizzy when I stand up from a relaxed position and have noticed that my face goes red a lot now, as if I've stepped indoors from cold to boiling. I have no energy to do any exercise and feel constantly fatigued and tired. My sleep isn't great as I wake up a lot through the night (may I add that it's not the headaches that wake me up, they seem non existent as I sleep and for the first half hour in the morning when I awake. But from then on its relentless. Painkillers do jack squat, even co-codomol doesn't touch it when that used to be my saving grace whenever I got a bad head. This is much different to headaches I have had before. Last think as well. I went to watch my football team play today and tried to do a warm up with them. Since then my head ache is worse and my brow and temples feel bruised and tender to touch.

I apologise for the length of this but i didn't want to leave much out. I hope someone is able to helps with this as it's wearing me out now... Physically and mentally. Got an MRI on weds but I know results can take a while. Was just hoping for some feedback before hand.

Thanks for reading. Take care all.

Richard

Going through the same thing for just over a month now. I am extremely healthy, very active and currently not able to do much due to this extreme temple pain and dizziness. Had blood work done, CT scan and eye exam. Have another appointment with my GP tomorrow and I am requesting a urine test specifically for mold illness. Look it up and hey, maybe just have your GP check for it. There is also a specific blood test you can request for mold levels as well. You would be surprised how many of the symptoms may line up. If mine comes back clear I'm requesting testing for Lymes Disease.

Went to the ER and gave me Percocet and Valium I took 3 days to relieved some pain I went to my doctor last Saturday and said was tension and gave me some excersice and sent me on my way. I had a ct scan in 2012, 2014, and 2015 and nothing. This is my worse and longest headache. I will se my doctor Sunday's and I will request and MRI. BP been normal no cholesterol issues. Hi Richard,  First of all, I'm not in the medical profession, but I do read a lot about various medical issues.  It sounds to me like it could be high blood pressure.  Have you had your blood pressure checked lately?  There is something (and I'm not sure what it's called) where  your blood pressure spikes from time to time.   It could also be a cluster headache, which can be on one side or one part of the head.  I know your post is old, but I hope you have discovered what is causing these headaches.  Good luck.

Hi there- I wanted to reach out about your issue. I know it's been sometime now but I seem to be going through the exact same thing. All the symptoms you have listed I have expereinced and it's been about a month. Last I see was that you were awaiting MRI results. If you could pass along any words of wisdom to help deal with this i'd really appriciate it.

dunno if you guys wanna hear this but my consultant said there was nothing he could do, he could only sort the migraines and insomnia. He could only refer me to psychology to help manage the pain... Sorry to break this to you guys, you guys might be lucky as i have had a headache 6 months now! All the best.

      Take care.

HI all - just to give an update......... I finally found a good headache doctor - after going thru my primary care - 3 neurologists and two hospital visits - he put me on Celebrex - and that did the job to clear up the headaches.   i still get a slight pressure - and now down to taking one pill a day...... and it seems to be working.   good luck
