I've been on sertraline at 50mg for 4 weeks and 100mg for 2 weeks, 6 weeks in total for anxiety ! I literally feel like I'm dying the anxiety is unbearable I can't stand it anymore and there's no immediate help out there 😥😥

I think perhaps you need to visit your GP as the dose doesn't seem to be working. You can go up to 200mg with sertraline. It can also take up to 8 weeks for the drug to work to its full potential. Perhaps your GP could give you a small supply of diazepam to control your anxiety while the sertraline kick in. Good luck. Anxiety is the most dreadful experience. X

I could bare 8 weeks to full potential if I could feel even a slight improvement now but nothing ! Anxiety is absolutely crippling me

I agree with Mumsie pops, you should check with your GP. He'll help. I had the same, but it seems to have eased  quite dramatically from a couple of days ago, which I was in despair. Be patient it will go away.

    All the best xxx

I would go back to your GP I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for a short course of Valium as Mumsie Pops has advised, you are tolerating Sertraline and taking on a regular basis so this would just give you that extra help to carry on through this difficult period, or they may suggest an increase .

I have already had 10 days of lorazepam 1mg 2xdaily and as soon as I finished it I am back to crippling anxiety

Jessica you could also ask your doctor for propranolol......non addictive

The CPN only offered to change me to mirtazipine which doesn't even state that it treats anxiety

Propranolol is a good treatment, maybe go directly to the GP , I have no experience of CPNs.

I started on 12.5 and increased to 25 after a week. My anxiety was unbearable for the whole start up process (about 3 weeks). You may need to wait for youget body to adjust. Or maybe you need to go up a dose. I would ask your GP for fast acting meds (Xanax) to take for panic for the time being until your body adjusts.

Oh Jessica you probably need to up your dose. You must go & see your GP

it can take 8/10 weeks to notice an improvement but if I was in your shoes I would def consult your doc. Maybe you need to switch meds. Much love. My heart goes out to you. Stay in touch. I will try & help. X

You need to see your doc. How can you give up? Things can only get better.

Please keep going Jessica. You need to give it at least another 3/4 weeks. Go to your doc & let him/her reassure you or even "up" your dose. Stay strong. You'll come through this soon. Thinking of you. X

How can I give up ? 7 weeks of torture and absolutely no benefit from sertraline whatsoever, which means starting again with something else and not having a clue what will happen next
