Hi Lara,
I thought I would share my taper plan as its going really good, I am quite proud of my determination to stop taking Codeine in the form of Nurophen Plus.
I was taking between 380-512mg of Codeine per day my dose was
10 tabs 3 to 4 times per day, they each contain 12.8mg of Codeine .
Day one I dropped to 7 x 12.8mg 3x a day
= 268 mg per day.
Day 6 = 5 x 12.8mg 3 x a day
= 187mg per day
Day 11 = 4 x 12.8mg 3 x a day
= 153.6 mg per day
Day 18 = 4 x 12.8mg 2 x a day
= 102mg per day
Day 24 = 4 x 12.8mg in the morn and
3 x 12.8mg in the afternoon
= 89.4 mg per day.
This is where I am at now... I think that this will take me till christmas but I will drop one pill now every 4-5 days until I am only on two tabs per day than I will jump.
To go from 400-500mg all the way down to 90mg per day has still had its problems but nothing like when I went cold turkey.
The drop to under 200mg was where I lost energy, I had a buzzing brain, my bones ached and i had toilet troubles every morning ....but these were so manageable
I truly think that taking the following health products has helped so much.
Magnesium, spirolina, Q10 and A multivitamin.
If I don't take the above than I am quite achy and tired on top of the withdraws but they don't last long.
I went cold turkey a few years ago and it was hell, I had the worst anxiety and night horrors . It took a month to feel better but it was like night and day I just woke up one morning after finally sleeping through the night and I felt brilliant.
I never want to go through that again so the taper is my own way out.
Will you share your taper plan with us all?
I would love to hear how you are going with it!

No RLS, no chills, no sweats, no bowel upsets, no paranoia.
DONT DO COLD TURKEY FOLKS. You had the time to get addicted, you can get out there.
