8 week Consultant Appointment

Posted , 6 users are following.

Hi I am 8 weeks since my ankle operation on Saturday this week. Next week on Monday I have an appointment with the consultant at the hospital. I still have my walking boot on and this appointment will decide if I can start physio. Does anyone know what will happen at the appointment please as I don't know the procedure. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you. Julie (UK)

Hello Ann, Sorry for your lost. Always remember in time you will be healed it may seems like forever, but it will come. it's been 3 months for me since I broke my ankle I have screws and a plate and I'm walking. I'm walking with a slight limp but I'm walking. the more I walk the better I will get. I hope that you come out your cast and I pray that you will smile and don't be so down just remember this is a minor setback for a major come back. you got this good luck at doctor!

Thank you for your kind words. I am so happy for you that after 3 months you are walking. It gives me hope that in a little time I may be walking too. This is why I became part of this forum we all help each other through it and give each other information. It has helped me talking to people going through the same thing even at different stages. I wish you a speedy recovery. Julie

Hi Ann so glad your cast has come off even though you have a walking boot. I was put in a walking boot straight after my ankle operation and have had it for 8 weeks so I feel like you felt with your cast. It is little by little my next step is to hopefully have a good xray on Monday so I can start walking again. Fingers crossed. I am grateful for this forum too such lovely helpful people who all understand what each other are going through. I wish you all the best with your recovery. Julie

      Happy the cast is off

Did your doctor say you could put a little pressure on that foot? I could put sbout 25% weight once the boot went on with my crutches

Patience is the key with this injury

Keep us posted and enjoy sleeping with no cast!!!
