90 degree bend

The specialist my huband was referred to told him that it is still okay to have intercourse while his shaft is bent at a 90 degree angle pointing straight up. With the caveat that he does not hurt the penis further! Apparently there has somewhere in the past where his penis was hurt and it caused this serious bend because a blockage or scar tissue developed in the top fibrous artery of the penis.
This didn't happen overnight. This bend took 8 months to get so severe that neither of us felt comfortable having intercourse. So he went to the doctor. He should have gone 6 months earlier! Got a referral to a specialist. Waited 2 months for the specialist to call and advise when the appointment would be. Waited 5 months to see the specialist. By this time it was already 1 full year of abstinence. The specialist told him this happens sometimes, the damage is often permanent, but he could still have sex!
All of the devices that you can google are not going to work either. They can also damage the penis further.
He made it clear the only way to cure the bend in the shaft is to damage the shaft on the opposite side, wait for scar tissue to develop and hope that it lessens the bend or straightens. The other option was to wait and see if it straightens on its own. Hubby decided to wait.
An appointment was made for 1 year later. In the meantime, doctor says yes to sex! Whoa, he has not idea what he is saying. Really!
Hubby wants to try. Let me advise that over 50% of women have fibroid tumours. These tumours grow in ball shape and can get as big as melons. I have 3 and they feel like hard, slippery balls. While bending forward, the penis has to be manuevered between 2 fibroids near the cervix in order to enter the vagina. Now the first 3 inches is in and the bend has to be dealt with. But the head of the penis is pushing against the third, largest fibroid. Any motion to further insert the penis bounces it backwards against the fibroid tumour. By pushing further, the penis eventually is completely pushed backwards. How is that position not causing further damage? How would this be pleasurable to either partner?
Not only is this uncomfortable, it does nothing to arouse the female partner. So we stopped having sex altogether.
Fast forward to the 1 yr appointment. The doctor asks about the sex life. Hubby says nonexistent. Doctor says "that's disturbing!" WTF?! How does he think what I have to endure in order for sex to exist is not disturbing? Obviously there is no consideration here for the female participant or any health challenges she might have.
Hubby has now decided that he is going to have the proceedure done to damage the opposite side. The damage surgically done will also take months to see results because scar tissue must develop.
Men wait far too long to go see a doctor. I read the differences from women that actually call and see the doctor for their serious issues. And I compare to this forum which also has some serious issues and men are asking questions. The difference is that men put off going to the doctor for as long as they can. How would you react if you were told that at 52 years old you would never have sex again? That is what waiting can do.

Was this ever diagnosed as Peyronies Disease?, my upward curve was diagnosed as such. I was referred to a specialist and he suggested exactly the same as you have described, to create some scar tissue on the opposite side of the curve in order to balance the dmage, he said there may be some loss of length.
I went ahead as intercourse was becoming very difficult and we missed it. The result of the treatment was disappointing as not only I did I lose more length than I expected but after a few months my penis began to curve again, after two years it is the same as before, intercourse impossible, we use mutual masturbation with loads of lube for our pleasure now.
I hate to sound negative but if you get this condition after the age of fifty then forget conventional sex, stick to gardening!!
Seriously, there quite young men who suffer with Peyronies and I don't think there is much hope for them despite the stories of miracle cures with electric toothbrushes I have read on here, at least I had a brilliant sex life once.

If the damage causing the curve is actually a blockage in a fibrous artery, why would they not try to use ultrasound to treat it. Ultrasound has been used to destroy tumours, heal muscles, produce detailed sonograms of babies. In my opinoion, we are still lin a primitive stage of healthcare that goes for the cheapest method of treatment.

I don't have this problem or any problem going to doctors if i need help with something and will talk about anything to the doctor male or female. i don't understand some men.
