What is wrong with me? I try to be careful with my fake hips, but this evening, while in a great hurry, I RAN! I ran! I am not even a runner! Now I am hurting to the point that I am limping and feel as though I may have to use my cane again. It seems like lately I am trying to ruin my surgeries. First I slip on snow slush and nearly fell and caused myself pain and problems, and now I ran!
I just need to tell fellow hippies.

Just climbed onto the table about an hour ago to do something and getting back up there soon to finish up.
Try to take it easy for the next couple of days, use ice packs or painkillers today, and you'll probably be fine. If you're still really sore in a few days' time, think about getting it checked by a doc...

As humans we want to preserve our 'fake hips' for as long as possible but I think we also have an inbuilt sense of survival and survival is getting back to doing normal things.
As the, umm, younger end of the THR spectrum maybe we are riskier!!

I used to go to local Catholic School for music lessons, the Nuns used to scare me to death.
Can't relax when singing, no matter how I try so although I can sing rather well and in tune, or so I am told, and I enjoy it, I cannot get past a certain point, I learn't well from those Nuns.
K D LANG thats me, I have a rather unusually low contralto, which shocks people, and delights others, told its a rare gift.

Could walk fine today but sitting in the car was agonizing. Both hips are screaming at me.

We all know we have to be careful, we all know we shouldn't take risks but, heaven's sake, can't we test the water every now and again?
Confidence is a massive thing and obviously your subconcious needed little more that a 'go on' in order for you to break into an illegal run!
coming down the stairs yesterday (two weeks post op) I found I was doing it the adult way and it wasn't until I thought about it that I reverted back to toddler stepping..
I would say as long as there are no lasting ill effects then rest up and carry on.
I was told 'no running' but I interpret that as don't take up marathons or regular jogs - a quick dash won't take much off the life of your hips.

Hurrying days are over, darling ... I did something similar yesterday but caught myself in time - I got out of my car and was headed to my little bungalow, about 150 meters away (No car Bungalow park), when it started to rain !!! guess???? I slipped a bit (mud) and realied what I was about to do - so, soaking wet and it was the longest 150 meters ever !!!!
have a good night darling - little Dawn is okay - be nice to her
big warm hug
