    Hi Anne

I know I am not going to manage on paracetomol but my GP seems reluctant to give me anythng else   Any ideas what I should be asking for???   I was having my best day on Saturday gone  Daughter treated me to a trip to town for a manicure whilst she was having her hair done  I was finished before she was ready so feeling so good I decided to walk the short distance to local supermarket and buy us our tea   Halfway there I had the overwhelming feeling of anxiety  No idea why or what was frightening me but I just knew that I had to get back to her to feel safe  Worst feeling I ever had in my life  The pain soon followed and what could have been a nice day was cut short   I told my GP this and he just shrugged it off and told me to keep trying outings until I felt better???  Dont feel he will much help to me for my PIP either

My GP was willing to prescribe codeine but I refused it as it makes me so ill - constipation and doubled up with stomach pains etc., plus a whole range of other nasty side effects, its not worth it to me.  He won't prescribe any opiates like tramadol however.  Anti inflammatories are not particularly good with fibro as it isn't an inflammatory condition, its more similar to viral pain.  Try buying curcumin capsules from a health food shop - its the active ingredient in the spice turmeric (although the spice only has about 5% concentration which is why its better to buy the capsules). It's a very effective pain reducer and is good for general health too, so double benefit.  My general health has suffered as a result of fibro - my hair, skin, nails are all in poor condition and my fatigue is crippling.  Curcumin has improved all of them a little.  Also ginger - good quality ginger teabags again from a health food shop - they really are brilliant in reducing pain - they don't remove it completely but they definitely take the nasty edge off it so I can move around better.

your not alone in this i am the same with all sorts of pain killers constipation something awful ,who wants that every day ease the pain of he fibro and get stomach pains great idea . anti inflamotrey s are nasty , i use differant

supplements to you but i would rather avoid meds that are going to cause me other problems i think we have enough to cope with ,as it is.

i dont see the point of canceling out one pain and replacing it with another

you do whats right for you hun ,same as me .razz

H Anne, sorry to hear you are having a really bad day, we all get them, just remember that we also get a few good days too an so you're probably due one. I just have paracetamol for the pain , nothing stronger works for me so im a paracetamol junkie. Im sorry to hear you cant have baths, they are lifesavers for me, given half the chance I'd be like the Ships captain in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy who just sits in the bath all day giving orders. In fact, I AM like that LOL. Hope you feel better soon xxx

Hi Teresa..I know something was wrong with my body in the mid 90s, I were oficially diagnosed in 2011. Have seen a Rheumy twice, and were told last year that I have worsened. I have been to Pain Management, and been on numerous pain relief. All I take now is Paracetamol and Oramorph. It takes the edge off, but when the flares attack, look out. Have a good day if you can.Anne
