Acid Reflux and Inflammed Esophagus?

Hello, I started experiencing esophagus problems all of a sudden about two months ago. It started one evening right after I finished supper, I felt like I had a lump of food stuck in my esophagus, rignt between my breast. It did not hurt, just felt like a lump of food just sitting there. I drank a lot of water and walked around the yard trying to get the food (?) to go down. After about an hour, it seemed to be ok. This continued to happen to me every evening after eating, but the symptom started lasting longer. At that time it was just my evening meals, then as the weeks moved forward it started happening with all meals, just worse in the evening. I made an appointment with my Gastroenterologist, who I use to see ten years ago for acid reflux. He scheduled an endoscopy, and the results showed no stricture, and no cancer. He said my esophagus was a little red and inflamed and prescribed me rabeprazole sodium at 40 mg daily. This seemed to make the stuck food feeling go away but caused me really horrible insomnia and constipation, so I had to stop taking it. I now take Nexium at 20 mg twice a day, but it is not helping at all. I am having a hard time believing this symptom has anything to do with acid reflux, as I have not had any acid reflux symptoms, or issues in years. There are no symptoms at all, no heart burn, nothing. Does anyone else have symptoms like this? Could it be anything else? Thanks.

Have found all these posts quite reassuring! I have had acid reflux/heartburn for the last couple of weeks and the blockage in my chest sensation only recently come on. Will be consulting my GP this week. I also have some pain in my back between my shoulder blades - anyone else have this (more of an ache than pain)?

Anyway, I had a chest XRAY at the urgent care center and the doc said it was clear, but I don't believe him and I am planning on dying from either cancer or a pulmonary embolism very soon.

It was as if my food was stick between the backnof my nostril as of I could snort and remove the food and send it on it's way...The sensation finally went awau then came back after I would eat dinner...I had experienced having tonsil stones in the past and thought maybe food was getting caught in my tonsils...So I wemt to the ENT and got.my tonsils removed believing the discomfort of having food caight in my throat would be gone...NOPE it did the opposite now I feel the sensation of foodbstuck in the right side of my throat ALL day everyday weither Im eatong or not...and now developing chest pains on the right side
.neck pain on thebroght side as well.Ive done some researcj about dysphagia the proper term used for having food caught in the throat...and ive learned about the different types of dysphagia which can ne caused by acod reflux...what is Inthink os happenong is the acid has made little holes in our throat allow food and particles onto those holes compacting it cause discomfort and pain...we need dysphagia specialist to help is

You shouldn't have taken Nexium. What you should have done was to take apple cider vinegar because indiegation was caused by insufficient stomach acid, which was why you felt uncomfortable and burped.

I believe it was what you had eaten that caused your stomach to produce more acid. Taking Omeprazole reduces stomach acid, but should you take heavy meals (particularly those of high protein content) that requires stomach acid to break them down, the stomach automatically produces more acid. As a result, there is over-secretion of stomach acid even though you are taking Omeprazole. Do you get the picture?
