Acid reflux/heartburn

Hi ladies

I have heartburn very badly as perhaps you all know from my previous posts.

I am waiting for my ENT appointment. I take Lansoprazole twice a day before food. I also take ginger capsules and enzymes. None of this seems to work. As soon as I have eaten it starts to burn in throat and nose. I only eat small meals regularly rather than a big meal and am very careful what I'm eating.

I don't drink anything other than fruit teas and water.

I don't eat any fatty foods or tomatoes. Only a very slight amount of dairy ie semi milk with porridge in the morning.

Any suggestions?

Hi both Michellles, hope you both see this, I have read somewhere on this site that it's important to take lanzoprazol or omniprazol first thing in the morning half an hour before food?

      Yes thanks maisie

I take half hour before food. Only started them this morning and I know they can have side effects so a little worried about that which is why I never stick with meds longsad

I'm probably my own worst enemy.

I'm praying that this helps with the nausea because I've tried everything else.

Like I said since I've not had a period in five months it has just got a worse.

I try and keep positive but it's wearing me down.

      Thanks for advice x

      Hiya

Just wanted to know how you are getting on with the acid and lanzaprasole.

I took one and got a headache but think I could be overreacting that the tabs caused it.

I've tried another one this morning so we shall see but nausea is still there constantly.

Hope you are feeling better x

      Hi

I've cut mine down by half. They made my headaches worse and I had diarrhoea now and again. They haven't made a difference at all and that's 6 weeks or so. Yours may be better.

      Take care x

I have got gerd. I felt so nauseous the last 4 days I couldn't concentrate on anything. I've been trying all things. What i am doing at the moment is eating very small snacks often. I have breakfast about 8.30 then at 10.30 I have a banana or something then my lunch at 1.15. For my tea in the night I have it in 2 attempts. Anything fatty is really bad. I have my tea about 6 and eat it in 2 parts. Half am hour apart. Then at 9 I have a tiny snack. Also I've been having 2 digestive enzymes after each meal. They seem to be helping slightly. Also sit upright, don't Slouch.

I hope this is helpful xx

      Thank you for the advice.

I'm a community carer and I have to bend over a lot during the day and I have been thinking that could well be making it worse.

I've had two upper endoscopy done and consultant says I have possible non ulcer dyspepsia as no acid erosion has been found. I'm due to see him again in june as I have a stomach polyp very tiny that is being monitored.

When I ask him could that be the cause of my problems he says absolutely no way.

Then I asked if it could be hormonal and again he says no way.

He has for the past two years told me that it's stress related. I do not believe that at all.

I will be looking for some answers from him at my next appt.

I've never eaten big meals dint drink don't smoke so it just doesn't make sense apart from hormones. X
