    Hi Marie

I had THR eight weeks ago and felt i was doing really well, however i am now experiencing more pain underneath the wound. I visited my gp who has given me antibiotics as a precaution. I have a lot of tingling, pulling and sharp pains which worry me. I did start trying a few walks around my street and although it felt ok at the time i think i over did it and am suffering now. I know i have done too much but its hard when you are told to keep exercising and moving and then you end up with swelling and pain.

About two years ago I broke my shoulder and it healed wrong. I had shoulder replacement and was left with nerve pain in my arm and my hand. I didn't know what it was. Dr. never said it was nerve pain. And then last August I had hip replacement, these were both on my left side. Now I have nerve pain and numbness from my kneeto my foot. My primary doctor says I'm under the surgeons care, Meaning he doesn't care. My surgeon says give it time. I am waiting for the approval for a nerve conduction test. And another round of physical therapy. The shoulder surgery was by first surgery I was 70, I am Mel 72. I want this to stop.only having two surgeries in my life to have the nerve pain afterwords. The shoulder though he healed fine is just getting through this nerve pain.surgeon said I need the other hip done, NO WAY!

I thought my lack of post op medical follow up was bad.. only physio check at 6 weeks, NEVER seen doc or consultant and next post op check  is in 12 months again with physio!   Where do you live?  If you are worried YES def contact yr GP or phone ward where you had op, altho they will poss only tell you to contact GP.  Also let reception staff at yr GP practice know it is post op so you do not wait for an appt.
