Advice needed

Hi, after months of panic attacks and low mood I started on 20mg fluoxetine and after 3 weeks of horrendous side effects, I started feeling much better. on week 6 I had a review with my doctor and explained to him that I was still really socially anxious so he upped my dose to 40mg. I lasted 3 weeks on this dose because I felt so bad on it. I've gone back to 20mg 4 days ago but still feel awful, low mood and anxiety. I'm worried I'm never going to feel better. Thanks

I had to wait 12 weeks on 30 mg before I was comfortable going to 40. I just started 40 6 days ago, back to the side effects. For some reason prozac takes forever to level out. I did not have that experience with other antidepressants.

I also do a gradual up on dosage. I did 10 then 20 then 30, now 40. My body and mind can't handle side effects very well and my doc knows this. I've been upping for 6 months. It's taking forever but it's how I personally have to do it.

how are you finding the side effects going up 10mg at a time? I really really struggled going from 20mg to 40mg. Anxiety was through the roof and my mood plummeted. I regret upping it now because its set me back

I think they're not as strong when you go up 10 at a time. I still have anxiety from the side effects but it's not as severe. But I think I've also found ways to "talk myself down" mentally when I feel the anxiety is going to be strong and lead into a panic attack. I also have panic disorder to keep in check. Some people have more sensitive systems than others when it comes to side effects.

I'm definitely sensitive to them, I dont think I would dare up the dose again for the fear of side effects
