Advice needed....bad infestation!

Hi again, I think i bought around 6-7 pills with the space of two weeks (Had to make sure i hid from certain pharmacists because they wouldn't prescribe more >.<). thought i was fine, but i think the worms are back; along with insomnia, stress and pain... kinda bad too because i've run out of cash; maybe if i get some soon i can try treating myself, after all i've been living with these for over half my life, a couple weeks won't hurt.

Hi Everybody,

I have been discharged from hospital today. I have not managed to convince doctors that I have pinworms in my ears, nose, throat, eyes, under skin and other places ….. I feel so depressed I cannot verbalize it. Now I know they are other people in my situation but it only raises more questions.

We have established that it is possible for pinworms to infect cavities, but does anybody know how it happens? Does it happen through eggs getting into eyes etc. ? or do worms migrate under skin?

WHY doctors do not react to what we are reporting?

The doctor in hospital asked me if I have ever had mental illness and been seeing things that are not there.

I suppose if there are so many of us with the same symptoms some specialist should look into it…. Don’t you think so?......

Ok, so the family has worms!!!! This is driving me insane! To the point were my husband thinks I'm mad!! We tries two lots of ovex 2 weeks apart and they got worse! So now were going to try Toni's way of it!

My only thing is that I have little ones and I'm hoping this is safe for us all!! There 5,6,1.

I'm eating raw garlic for the past two days and pumpkin seeds till there coming out of my ears!! oh and sea kelp tablets! I've also ordered some diatomaceous earth food type ontop of the ovex Toni suggested! I hope this works, I can't take any more washing of door handles, hoovering, washing kitchen and bathroom and bedsheets everyday!!

Oh, in Canada, they've understood the epidemic is worsening and scientists have been granted £mils of pounds to help rectify the problem!!! God hope this works!!!

I have been posting in this forum for afew months re: threadworms but i seem to have come onto another thread from the one i usually inhabit and post on......

Anyway, I have been a long term sufferer of TW's for decades not all the time but the population inside me flares up sometimes and they cause me alot of grief and pains in gut area. I have now stopped taking 'Pripsen' because i realised all it does is paralyse afew but doesnt get rid of them even after taking 3 doses 2 wks apart i still had them.

This 'summer' a friend told me about something called 'Diatomaceous Earth' so i researched this and bought some on the internet - 5K !!! and for the past 6 wks i have been taking this. It is foodgrade DE, i have been taking 1 rounded tsp. mixed into a little water or apple juice 3 times perday. This stuff is supposed to clean you out and physically destroy the worms. It is full of silica and some of the silica will be absorbed which is good as our body needs alittle silica. Well, what can i say after 6 wks????

For starters i started on the DE a wk after taking the 2nd pripsen dose so by all accounts i should have been worm free. 13 days after taking the last Pripsen dose (and 9 days after starting on the DE) I had a 'worm pain' in my guts so i think this was young ones hatching or something then 5 days later a worm appeared - this was on the 14th day of taking the DE., 5 days later another worm, 6 days later 2 worms, day after another, then next day another and then the day after 6 worms appeared late afternoon/evening/night time , a day later another 1, next day another 1 then 6 days with none, 3 days ago 1 appeared and early hrs of this morning 2 more. So in the 4th -5th week things really started happening.

If i hadnt of been taking the DE then all these worms wouldnt have appeared because i have never had so many appear before so i would say DE is cleaning me out good and proper. Im continueing taking 3 doses aday, it will be worth it.

The DE isnt unpleasant to take at all, nothing like wormwood or grapefruit seed extract, just like a slightly chalky shot. Fingers crossed this is the one. I am 56 yrs of age now. Why has it taken this long to find something to help this problem? The drug companies are making loads of wonga out of something that is useless.

henbene, I have not heard of the DE but wonder if the amount you have to eat is safe? I have not had luck with anything from Ovex, to other over the counter worm meds. The most effective medicine was Albenza and it was not permanent. I wonder if anyone else has tried the DE?

I recently had an infected tooth and was given Keflex for 7 days. This is first real relief I have had in 3 years. Along with this I was eating at least 1/4 cup of Pumpkin Seeds that seems to help me. I only saw two large worms come out with egg pouches and some small ones around my anus.

I don't think anyone has the real answer but continuing the cleaning and washing the sheets and underclothes daily with Borax does control them better. They did try to get into the skin above my buttocks just below my tail bone again but I was really determined to wash and put baby powder there at the least tickle.

OMG. There are reported cases of infestation in the eye!

I think this is under-reported.

It does say in the article linked above it is only the second case in English literature so probably why it is not reported routinely.

Personally, I think threadworms / pinworms are massively under reported (and under diagnosed) anyway. We're conditioned in society not to speak of these things.

I also believe that the pharmaceuticals companies know perfectly well that their medicines are ineffective. The clinical dose of Mebendazole in a hospital setting is 300mg to 500mg, repeated up to every 3 days. They don't tell you THAT on the Ovex box. Threadworm sufferers are a captive market.

I see your point now, I hadn't read the whole discussion. I will ask our clinical editor about this, ie if there is any more or growing evidence of this.

I believe that the original poster reported threadworms in the eye and nose. Other people have reported similar infestations in other threads.

It's frightening.

Another thing I am concerned about that some people may be suffering infestation with other types of worms, e.g., hookworms. There is a difference. But I really do think that some of these infestations are ordinary 'harmless' pinworm.

It would be interesting to see if any of these sufferers have eosinophilia.

Yeah, and it's not good.

The manufacturers of Pripsen Powders (piperazine phosphate 4g) have ditched the product in favour of mebendazole 100mg. Just like the competing product, Ovex.

I contacted the manufacturers, Thornton and Ross Ltd, and was told that it's just too hard to get human grade piperazine phosphate these days.

I guess it's off to the vets, then.

I have been a long term repository for TW's, i am now 57 and am taking DE daily and having big sucess. DE or Diatomaceous Earth is not a chemical like the drs stuff, this physically damages them in yr body as DE is very fine powder and has a sharpness and cuts up the wrigglers.

I have been taking this since august and am thrilled with the fact that it works, no more up half the night with wriggling critters disturbing my sleep . It is food grade.

BTW, i gave up on pripsen and all the other drs stuff cos it didnt work and i didnt want to be taking the chemicals all the time because im not sure of side effects that they dont tell you about or under play.
