Am reading a lot on here about people using Bicarbonate of Soda and Baking Powder? Is that right Baking Powder not Baking Soda?

i am keen to give it a try but need to know exactly what to get and in what quantities to use it. Also do you leave it to dry on the skin after use?

Bicarbonate of soda is in Baking Soda

    Soda Bicarb is alkaline

Baking Soda is a combination of Soda Bicarb and normally tartaric acid - but other cooking acids may be used like citric acid.

These are in dry powder form, so when water is added to Baking soda a chemical reaction occurs that causes air bubbles to form - a fizzing - This is used to make cakes  light

I imagine it would not be therapeutic to use baking soda rather than simply bicarb. DO PLEASE look at the ingredients in the potions and lotions you apply to your skin, so that you understand what affect they have on you

Hanny swears by a pinch of bicarb in a bottle of water. I would dry the area  then apply the barrier ointment. Have you looked at the Dr Goldsteins website it tells you how to apply your steroids

    Good luck

Just to complicate the situation even more, here in Ireland we are very fond of our wholemeal soda bread, so you can buy bread soda in the supermarket, which is just plain Sodium Bicarb, and is distinct from baking soda! I think the moral is to read the packet very carefully before you buy anything.
