I was told by my consultant that you mustn't reduce it by any more than 200mg at a time as it will bring on more difficulty in other areas as your brain adapts to the new dose. The fastest you can reduce is by 200mg every 3 weeks for no additional side effects.

Hi Naomi
You really need to find doc even if it's ER doc or substance counselor
I was on 1200-1800 a day for 30 days
Doc weaned me by 300mg in am and 300mg pm for three days 300 mg once a day for 3 days
It's hell first week
Dizziness lasts a while
Mine was treated as benign positional vertigo
And gave me exercises
Also anxiety
Jumping out of my skin
Depression
Still have no joy and it's been three months
But it's a lot better than being on it or the detox from it

i finally am off of the GP. Feeling better but not 100 percent. I went to ER room did nothing. I got my old pain management doctor back and he called me. The other one I should report. He never got back to me and lefted me hanging. That drug is evil. I will pray you will get back soon. God bless...Naomi

I been off GP for 6 weeks not and still feel lighthead, and pressure a litle higher than normal. I wonder if its still the GP or the fact that I have 4 heniated disc in neck and maybe its cevical vertigo. What is your thought on that.?

I too stopped gabapentin 300mg a day after reading about it. I stopped dead after stopping Fentanyl so had withdrawals from that. Yes, you are better without all these mind altering drugs. Have you considered Mindfullness or Cognative behavioural therapy or councilling to help with whatever issues you have. Support is essential to help with withdrawals.
I do hope you feel better soon and again well done.

Hi Actiquser
Yes in the process of finding more support and counsel. I don't have much family and I am divorced. Out of work for 3 years. Followed by workers comp private investigators for a year. So its been really rough. I pray everday and even call the 700 club 24 hour prayer line. God bless you all. Naomi

Hi Naomi,
I am in the same boat as you getting off the gabapentin. I was on 1800 mg for about 4 months when I tried to drop it down further and then started having all the withdrawals from it. I am 41 days gabapentin free today ( 11/14/16-1st day without) and am still suffering from headaches, dizziness, and extreme nausea. How are you feeling? When was your first day GP free? Please update on your symptoms now, I'd like to check on you.. Hope your Christmas is well! Heather
