On the subject of bisopradol n drinking, I'm on 5 mg daily stopped drinking and smoking all together, feel like rubbish tired listless, get out of breadthless  after short distance. See my cardiologists this Friday first time since August when was first diagnosed with this poxy thing need to come off it ASAP or some op to cure af carnt even emulsion a ceiling without dizzy spells or breathing issues, so back at home my decorating work as to take a back seat until I'm fit again, ps it's a constant battle for me to keep off the fags n Guinness felt fine when I was on that daily better than any meds

    After my heart attack I cut down from 40 cigs a day to around 15 a day. For the first few weeks after cutting down I was very breathless, so as a professional researcher i researched it smile When you smoke it actually opens up the bronchial passages so when you cut down drastically or stop, you get breathless until your lungs adjust. Add this to the side effects of Bisoprolol and it is really debilitating! That why i didnt stop completely, as smoking helps me relax and destress and it one of the few things left that I enjoy.

      You could relax on a lot less than 15 a day.

      When I was in hospital a 30 day smoker in after his fourth heart attack phoned his mother asking her to bring in cigarettes. He said I'm not going to smoke but I'll feel comforted by them being there:-)

      Have you tried electronic cigarettes? They even allow you to smoke them in the cardiac surgery ward.

      if i had one the mrs said she would castrate me. good reason not to start again got one of them ecigs,on 24 mg of golden virginia flavour?,not the same as a real cig but tis what it is at least i can smoke watching tv now

      feeling utterly disappointed to night , the blood results were awful , last week 4.5 this week 1.9 she took it twicejust to make sure , so the

      ats the cardio cancelled fir the 11/4 ,. When I was obvisoulty upset she said have you been stressing about this ,,, yes I have , well that's what's happened you burn warfarin when you are stressed , here's me thinking you burned ibs , . I took the AF through stress , my world is about to get a lot more stressful as I close my business down , and when I said I am under the opinion that it does not always work at all or for any great length of time she confirmed this , desicion make no cardio for me , I will keep my appointment for the consultant on the 20 Nov , so tonight I am having a glass of wine and a cig , xx

      Oh dear dereck like you say how can you not have stress no matter how you try not to, I to struggled with crap blood levels . Highest 3.7 lowest 1.4, I have to go to the bloody hospital every time for my bloods and must admit would love just to say sod it carnt be bothered, close your business up chill out re group and get your levels right, and ps enjoy your ciggie tonite I'm jealous of you doing what I would give my right arm to do but I know if I had one I would be back on thirty a day,

      Yes it's something I might think about mid 2015 when it's all done , right now I am shattered I have done far to much today , I may even have a wee sly one fir you lolx

      If you were smoking in a bus shelter near me Dr Dereck the reformed smoker would tell you to put it out or stop outside.

      One woman dared argue!!!!!!!!!!!! She told me she was under great stress as her mother was dying of lung cancer. A converstsation followed... She then sat behind me on the bus and phoned all of her friends telling them about this nasty old man.

      It's not easy has for herion the old drugs scene never appealed.aa for the bus shelter I hate public transport to many scum bags stinking of weed for my liking but you carry on being the fag police

      It's a hard job but someones got to do it:-)

      I'm glad that I stopped smoking when I did as it has become so unnaceptable now that there are not many places where one can indulge.

      Not even in my house , lol I just seen your post from earlier it's not a case that I want the cardio , they said in A&E that was what wad going to happen ,  so I followed thinking it was the b all , until I came across this wonderful group and learned as well as asked , you know I feel better tonight now that I have made my mind up takes a bit if pressure off , confused

      Some things like No Smoking in Parks and cigarettes behing sliding panels in Supermarkets are going  bit to far.

      Don't lie to your doctor about smoking as they can tell if you have from some blood tests.

      I used to have a collection of ashtrays that I had nicked from restaurants, hotels and Casinos around the world. I gave them all to a charity shop except one.

      A decision always gives peace of mind at least until one has second thoughts:-)
